Apparently, we abuse our finish mower to death, or near death. It’s down to 2 decent wheels. One wheel is not attached and the 3rd is bent badly. The leading edge we bent in the last time we used it- so badly the center blade was banging against it. Last night’s chore was “unbending” the body so the blade will pass. Some judicious use of a hydraulic jack and sledge hammer and it was “as good as new”! I remembered I had new blades for it, but was running out of daylight and wanted to mow along the driveway, so that will be another time.
If you haven’t seen the finish of the Giro stage from yesterday, go find it. Highlight is Mark Cavendish sliding across the line on the the finish camera for 5th!!
Wordle in 5. There was no middle ground, either my letters were in the right spot or they weren’t. I struck out at Staples trying to find binder clips to help manage the cables under my desk. I could have bought 144 large binder clips, but no thank you. I only need a couple.
That’s what I ended up doing. I stopped at CVS after checking their app to see if they had binder clips in stock, and their definition of large is laughable. It doesn’t take much IRL shopping to remind myself why I keep enriching Jeff Bezos. My clips will be here this afternoon.
Left Ft Myers in route to St Pete (actually Gulfport) for lunch with my friend Mary. We didn’t go to high school together, but dated brothers back in the mid 80s & have been friends ever since.
Good visit with Parrothead friends, nice relaxing day. We did go drive around Fort Myers Beach, what a mess from that hurricane. I’m sure it will be rebuilt, but it’s gonna take some serious time & money.
Went over to my friend Sarah’s house for dinner last night. She just got back from that catamaran trip in Belize that got re-scheduled. It got re-scheduled to Commencement weekend, so I could not go and they invited someone else. The trip sounded ah-mazing! Might have to schedule that sometime in the future.
This time driving was because of being in multiple places with different friends (that don’t know each other). Trying to Uber (or coordinate with friends for rides) would have been a crazy hassle.
But, long ass drive, flying & dealing with all the hassle is seeming not that bad right now.
We also were not good at planning this trip, and flight price was a little high by the time we figured it all out. Being a slacker made the drive seem like a better alternative. Now….. that’s a bother story. 😉
Something happened to Buc-ee’s sign since Sunday, since it was no longer there. Well, the post is still there, but the actual sign of Buc-ee’s head is gone.
It appears birds tried to make nests under my deck and failed. There is straw strewn about.
WLF looks as if it survived, even with an apparent lack of rain I expected it would receive. The seedling inside are angrier than I hope that they would be, especially the bean plants I should have transplanted prior to leaving town.
Need a Free podcast or 2 please. Can’t get on the Libby app (lost the pin) & Allan’s damn Samsung phone I can’t get to work on my car. I’m not trying that hard.
In Lake City, FL. Stocking up on food and gas to make the push to Atlanta straight through.
Wordle in 4. Thought about it in 3.

I bought a box of 12 binder clips off Amazon last year.

My binder clips have arrived. Lesson learned, Amazon has my credit card on file for a reason.
The pro’s use velcro.
My other comments are awaiting moderation as I enclosed web links.
Added web links when Paulie is driving, rookie move Steve.
Too funny. And clearly true.
Preach, Barb! 😉
Quiet, you.
Velcro makes sense, but I’m not going to be undoing these anytime soon, so zip ties work fine for this instance.
Comment approved, it’s up above.

Drive safely, Paulie and Barb (or Allan)!
Allan drives- he’s a horrible passenger.
I only get to if he gets tired. Which rarely happens.
Figured, knowing him!
Wordle in 4, 1st 3 correct in 2, that was interesting.
Mini…. Bad
Done with lunch. Eta 8pm home. 7 hours. Oh joy.
I would die. How come you don’t fly? Just being nosy.
I assume for the same reasons that I don’t, it’s that you’d have to rent a car, and it’s much cheaper to drive.

That is why I used to break the trip up over two days. This increased the trip cost, but made it easier to travel.
I’d rather deal with the logistics than sit in a car for 10 hours. But I know lots of people like to road trip!

And I’m stuck in an online thing at work that is boring.
Back ITP.

People like Smartless
Well, since you’re on the road, give “Over the Road” a try. It’s an 8 part series about long-haul truckers. When in Rome, and all that. I’ll text you.
Thanks
