Not much to report today. I spent nearly the entire day puttering in WLF. Most of the day I marveled at the strength of the wind, and glad I decided that I didn’t want to cycle through it. At one point the wind was so strong that it blew off one of of the tarps in the front yard, even though it is held down with bricks.

Today? More of the same, at least until early afternoon when I am meeting up with old friends for a few Quattro de Mayo beverages. We will be implementing the Irish bar on Cinco de Mayo policy, even though we will be a day early. 😀

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was NOVEL

Wordle in 4- both starting word and second guess were 0 for 5 and I thought of the answer at 3 and picked another word.

    W. Peachtree must have been closed at 11th, as there was a line of cars past our parking deck. Fortunately, Peachtree St. south was rolling and I was never delayed by the situation. So unfortunate and a “red flag” law could have possibly prevented.

45 minutes on the trainer while I started another Netflix series, “Set Point” (I think) about professional tennis. Very well done so far.

  2. Forgot to mention that I found this guy in the far reaches of my backyard yesterday.
All Your Base Belong To Us
It’s a Mylar balloon, about 16” tall. I’m sure some child was sad to see it blow away last weekend. Or did the Wheelhopper hashers put it there? Hmmm…

    • Bob says:

Not guilty, although we did sit around your fire pit and take some photos 🙂

      • Saw the photos. 😀 Glad some people saw WLF. For years I have been considering a WLF day with beer and grilled meats. I had to scrub the “picture” left on the driveway after realizing that the Amazon delivery person probably looked at it the other day. Since a brick was used to draw it, it was a little more difficult to remove it than I imagined.

Maybe now that the ice has been broken with that impromptu gathering you’ll get something on the calendar?

        • Bob says:

WLF is much larger than I imagined, you have done a ton of work out there.
Hashers drawing “pictures” on a driveway is always risky. Although, you do know what you will usually end up with 🙂

Wordle in 5 using cared. I did not have any correct letters in the first 3 guesses. Not many letters left after that. Going to be another nice day outside. Too bad I have to work. Sad happenings in Atlanta yesterday and too close to home. Looking forward to hanging out with the girls tonight. Y’all stay safe out there.

48 degrees out there this morning! I love it! This is by far the coldest spring I’ve ever experienced in my almost 18 years down here. Usually by May it’s hot!

I put a cassoulet in the crockpot this morning. I love chopping things for 10 minutes in the morning and coming home to a delicious healthy dinner!

  5. If you want to see yours truly modeling his new $8 Aldi gardening hat, check out my Instagram account. Look at me, cross-promoting. It’s like I am one of those annoying Gen-Z “influencers”. 🙂

  6. Barb says:

The shooter was apprehended in our friend Julie’s condo complex (near the Battery).
She said it was pretty crazy with all the cop cars.
I’ve been to her complex, not sure where they put all those cop cars.
Sounds like he has some mental health issues, as he surrendered very peacefully.
(its a crazy steep road in, maybe he just didn’t want to climb the hill out of there)

Wordle in 5 today starting with GRACE. I had the first, second, and fifth letters in three, so I had two more rounds of letter roulette to close the deal.

I took a literal car load of stuff to CHARM today, my car was full to the ceiling and I couldn’t see out of my right side rear view mirror. I removed stuff from my office closet that’s been there for a decade or more, and I cleared out a bunch of extraneous chemicals from my garage.

I realized another benefit today of the “throw one thing away per day” approach. There is so much decision making involved in decluttering one’s life. It’s like building muscle to be able to start making decisions instead of being paralyzed at every turn.

Dinner last night was at Carroll Street Cafe with a friend to celebrate his win in court. He truly thought he was going to be on the hook for a ton of money but the judge decided otherwise.

    • Good on ya. You are inspiring me to look at the items I possess, and what I can live without.

Hope your friend picked up the dinner bill. Lol

      • David says:

Thanks, Paulie. The more stuff I get rid of, the more stuff I want to get rid of. I am enjoying the empty spaces in my house.

We happily split the check, he had to pay his court costs, and it’s not like he had the money for those as it were.

    • Barb says:

      David –
we rode past that cafe on the Wheelhopper Sunday – looks like a tiny little place?
Did you walk there? (or ride your bike there?)

      • David says:

I walked there twice actually. My daughter wanted an Impossible burger from Little’s, the bodega next door. She walked with me there and then I could tell that she wasn’t comfortable walking back home alone with the shooter on the loose, so I walked her back, and then headed back to Carroll Street again. Along the way back I stopped in at Six Feet Under for a beer because my friend was running late. It’s about a mile from my house. It’s decent sized inside, it’s a nice place.

      • Jenka says:

I love the Carroll Street Cafe, but I rarely go there. I used to go there a lot with my friend Maura on Thursdays when they have the half priced appetizers. Parking over there is less than ideal, unfortunately.

  8. Just had to relocate a tiny snake that I uncovered in WLF. It calmly stayed coiled as I slid the shove beneath it, but slithered away quickly in the area into which I placed it.

    • Barb says:

we had the HVAC checkup today, the tech asked me – Do you have a cat? I was like…. No. Why?
Well – there is a dead bird on the front porch. I guess it took a header into our window & didn’t survive the impact. I need to get a shovel to relocate it.

Wordle in 4 and felt fortunate to suss it out after a couple blank guesses.

Love the structure my new job provides. It was desperately needed. But I’m not a big fan of the energy in the office. I’ll give it more time, but not getting compensated enough to deal with bad vibes. Publix is still looking good.

Fig got her big girl shots yesterday and is set for a year. She was a trooper; such a good puppy.

David, what it your last name? I’ll look you up on Facebook and take you up on the accountability support.

And another woot! I sold a 3 speed cruiser bike that my wife had bought years ago and then never used. A lovely 19 year old woman came by and got it, it’s exactly her speed. The overall load is now a little more lighter, and I got some cash too.
