I’ll never understand business accounting. Yesterday I received notification that my Scana Energy gas bill was ready. I logged on to their site and made my payment for the balance they dictated. After a few minutes I’d not received confirmation of the payment, so I logged in again to find that I had paid the balance, but somehow they now owe me 28¢. Go figure…
Moving slowly today. I need to shake the cobwebs and jump into the shower because the appointment window for the HVAC guy’s arrival is 8-12.
I solved today’s Wordle in three attempts; my starter today was TUNER.
Wordle in 5 starting with GRIND. Which was apropos for the 5 attempts I needed. I had four letters identified with my second guess but none of them were in the right place.
wordle in 5,
mini is over 2 minutes
I shouldn’t do these things 1st thing in the morning.
My brain isn’t awake
I coulda had Wordle in 4, I had the last 4 letters in place in 3. I started strong on the Mini but a couple of oddly written clues dragged my time out to 50.
Wordle in 6!! Ugh.
Debbie had plenty of nervous energy last night as she was anxious about today and the new job. She baked banna bread, an apple crisp and meatloaf!! I made the mistake of stepping on the scale this morning and I don’t want to talk about it.
There will be exercise of one type or another tonight.

You can do it!
I need to make banana bread this weekend, I’ve got over ripe bananas that are perfect.
I love banana, and pumpkin, breads but they don’t last very long in my house which is one reason I rarely make them.
Luckily I have a very skinny teenager in my house who will eat it all!
We actually made it out for a bike ride last night, at first I thought it was a little cold for my short sleeve jersey, but once we were moving, it really was the perfect temperature.
We then came home, quick shower & out to see my friend Mike sing at Suburban Tap in East Cobb. We never see him anymore, so it was good to catch up & hear a little bit of music.
I think we are going to Scofflaw tonight for the West Stride Plogging event – pick up trash while out running (or in our case walking) & get a free pair of socks – and a free beer, or at least discounts on beer. They also have On shoes there to do a demo. I like to test out different kinds of running shoes, just to see what I like if I was ever really going to spend money on shoes. 😉
Good on ya. I too thought it was a bit chilly at first but warmed up immediately. Wish I had brought a hoodie for beer drinking though.
I understand that all the cool kids pick up trash theses days.
I’m early on the HVAC schedule, they are on their way.
Picked salad ingredients to take to Betsy’s, she’s providing burritos from Bell Street Burrito.
Looking at one of the sneakers I am wearing and noticing that the sole has separated from the show at the toe. Time to break out my Shoe Goo!
I shoe goo’d my camper shoes – the soles were coming off. They are good shoes to slip on & wear when its wet & muddy (as I learned at STU)
David – I started watching Waitress this morning –
yes – I guess I do want pie now. (I had some quiche for breakfast)
Mmmm pie… Another rare occupant of my house since I will eat it nonstop.
Well, quiche is close! 🙂
We went to A Mano last night for dinner, it was excellent as usual. Then we finished season 2 of Succession. I really hope season 3 is better, otherwise we might drop the show.
Don’t tell Betsy that, Thema fighting words for her. Lol
I don’t think that have ever eaten at A Mano.
I still can’t understand why people are so obsessed with the show. I mean, it’s good, but it’s not great by any means. Maybe I’m missing something?
I’ve only watched Season 1, so I am no expert.
I flamed out on in during season 2. Just far too much yelling and dysfunction for me. I am newly free of a lifetime of both, and that is not how I’m going to spend my free or occupied time ever again.
Season 2 was pretty dumb. I’ll allow a show to have a sophomore slump, so I’ll at least start season 3. But there better be a vast improvement.
HVAC guys are here. Different crew than normal and they are taking a lot more time to look at the system. I’ve yet to determine if this is a good or bad thing…
And they are done, so time will tell.
Did they find anything wrong? Was it just a normal yearly checkup? (our guy is coming next week)
Maybe they were training a new guy, so they were going slower to show him the ropes?
Checkup. It usually is one guy, but two different guys were here today. One of the guys partially rewired the pump that takes the condensation outside. They said everything checked out, and I bought my first replacement air filter since the system was installed three years ago.
aren’t you supposed to change the filter more often than that?
Every time they checked the filter they said it was fine. Today it finally needed to be replaced.
You have no pets and probably don’t run the system that often so your filter is probably good for longer. I check every 6 months and usually replace within a year. Three people and a dog produce a lot of dust.
2 people and 3 dogs are exponentially worse. WE should change the filter every month… should.
Yeah, being pet less and cheap certainly help make it last longer.
Three people and a dog and a cat — yep, every 6 months. The cat sheds more than everybody else!
Well, I need to go check my filter. Thanks for the reminder, y’all. I need to book a checkup too.
Rumor has it my new E road bike has come in. Guess we will be poor for a little while.
Blue with blue tires? 😀
I wish – its all black
