While sitting in WLF yesterday after a morning of farm choring I looked at the roof of the ITP Estate and thought “I’d better get up there and clean it before the rain comes.”. And I did, and there was much rejoicing. Then, I realized that all of the shit I’d blown off the roof should also be blown off the deck, driveway, and back porch. That’s when something happened. I was using the leaf blower and thought “I might be at this awhile, I’d better wear ear protection.”, turned off the leaf blower and retrieved my ear muffs. When I returned, the leaf blower didn’t turn on. I thought “Shit, how did this die when I turned it off?”. Then, I plugged it into a different outlet and it worked again. Turns out, one side of an outdoor outlet has died, and the switches for the outdoor lights now do nothing. This is where it gets weird, or maybe even worrisome. I thought that I mapped all outlets to their corresponding breaker in the basement, but resetting all breakers did not solve the problem. Now, I need to schedule an electrician to come to look at and fix this problem. A near perfect morning of choring ruined by yet another ITP Estate anomaly. If you know of a good, licensed electrician please leave contact information in the comments.
I solved today’s Wordle in six attempts; my starter today was WEIRD, a replay of a word I used recently in honor of the ITP Estate’s condition.
Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 194.6 pounds (0.0 from last week’s weigh-in)
Wordle in 3!
The mom, the baby and the buddy all depart for their forever home today and we are glad. Debbie made me haul their feed buckets last night and damn, they are heavy! We attempted to adjust the halter on the baby last night- I got it off, but there was no getting it back on. I hope she is able to follow mom onto the trailer today, or they will have their hands full loading him.
We have gotten sucked into watching “The Diplomat” on Netflix and it’s highly entertaining! If it weren’t for actually having to go to bed, we might be finished with it already- it’s that compelling.
-FP
You know, I watched The Diplomat the past few days, I thought it was ok, entertaining enough – but didn’t find it that compelling.
BTW Paulie – I finished Alaska Daily. I’m not sure if they will get a 2nd season, thought I would like it if they do. I enjoyed that show.
Also been watching a network show called The Accused – every episode is a stand alone show. I enjoyed it very much.
I watched episode 3 of Alaska Daily last night, and will watch 4, and maybe 5 today.
Kevin loves Keri Russell so the Diplomat is on our list. She was great in The Americans!
I loved The Americans, and Keri Russell is fantastic, especially in the movie Waitress. That is a movie that I want to watch again soon.
I am not liking the third season of Ted Lasso.
She WAS great in The Waitress! We also saw The Waitress on Broadway with Jordan Sparks, who was fine.
We haven’t gotten to the third season of Ted Lasso yet, still working on Succession.
Waitress is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time. I’ll have to make sure to source some pie from somewhere when I watch it.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Waitress.
Lucky for me – Allan has almost every movie known to man on hard drives – so I think I will watch it this afternoon
It’s gonna make you want some pie…I’m just sayin’… 🙂
Wordle in 3. Mini in 55. I had 4 out of 5 letters identified in 2, so my third attempt was like shooting a fish in a barrel.
wordle in 6 – but I finally got it.
Mini – 1:28 – it wasn’t flowing at all
I agree. There are snags in any Mini that takes me more than 30 seconds. I chose my starting word wisely today for Wordle.
My score of CHaRM has dropped a letter grade since they no longer accept the Hefty Orange Bag, a campaign they pushed heavily last year to the point I bought a box of orange bags which are now probably pointless.
You can still drop off in Smyrna. https://www.hefty.com/products/hefty-renew/renew-communities/georgia/greater-atlanta-program Or at Barb’s house. 😉
Hmm, perhaps I will pull it out of my Herbie Curbie.
Apparently Cobb County still does local pickup of the orange bags, hence the reference to Barb’s house.
I’ve never heard of the orange bags – do you have to schedule a pickup? We have to contract our own garbage service – I can guarantee you my rinkydink little garbage company (that I love, but I still get a coupon book to pay) doesn’t mess with them.
And no comments about the Jets getting Aaron Rodgers?
This could be the year!!!
NY Jets: Where QBs go to die…
NY Jets: Where mediocre, middle-aged QBs go to die…
No, I really think 90% of all QBs, old or young, flounder as a Jet.
I’m now abusing my time off as I am doing nothing but sitting in the shade staring at WLF.
Sadly, what I thought was going to be an amazing crop of garlic this year is starting to fail. I shouldn’t be pulling until June, but now I am starting to wonder how much longer it will stay in the ground.
Nothing makes me hate LinkedIn more than their passive-aggressive “I’m still waiting for your response” emails when you don’t accept someone’s request to connect.
I’ve never put that much thought into it.
That is exactly what email filters are designed for. I apparently have over 700 email filters established. Who knew?
Yeah, I could create a filter. I just hadn’t thought to do so.
Wordle in 5 starting with BREAD.
Thank goodness our guests are going home! They’ve been a lot of work and stress.
Starting a new job so quickly has me all jacked up. I checked my calendar before setting my starting date, but I managed to forget 2 appointments tomorrow. Looking forward to establishing a routine.
so – you are going to work at the vet office? that sounds fun.
Congratulations, Debbie! I’ll bet your days go by fast! I don’t think you’ll have very many dull moments.
Thanks! And I agree that I think the days will go fast. It’s a very busy practice and I’ll be on the phones.
We went & bought some herbs & tomatoes & peppers at Ace. Probably paid a little more, but the convenience is well worth it. We needed 2 bales of pine straw, HD & Lowes are a 45 minute round trip, Ace is 10 minutes.
Thinking a bike ride after work – my friend Mike is playing a singer songwriter thing in East Cobb at 9pm, figure by the time we get done riding, we could have dinner there & then listen to him.
You should ride if possible, may be the last day to do so this week if the rain arrives.
Harry Belafonte has died. What a life well lived.
