Well, I lost $8 playing MegaMillions as one of my tickets correctly matched the Mega Ball thus winning me back $2.

It was an uneventful and rather disappointing weekend for me.

I don’t know the proper salutation for holidays such as today, so, happy (?) MLK Jr Day. Remember not to attempt and Government, postal, or banking chores today.

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was DOUGH

  1. Given the weather forecasted for the remainder of the week I am going to allow myself to take the majority of the day working in WLF; just waiting for the sun to come out, and the temperature to rise a little.

I’m chiming in just so Barb doesn’t think I only chime in when I solve Wordl in one or two. 🙂 I solved it in six. Had 3 letters in the correct spot but too many words fit the bill. Just bad guesses. Someone in Maine is very rich. I did not play the lottery. Going to be a gorgeous day so opt outside. I have my women of the woods hike this morning and then working the rest of the day. Retail does not get off for MLK day. Going to rain tomorrow so I guess my roof will leak again. Calling the roofer this morning.

Thank you for explaining how I won $2 as well. Wordle in 5 starting with AWAKE. Mini in 40 seconds. I attended a dance class for the first time in my life on Saturday. This first class was an orientation and mostly lecture, but I did indeed do a couple minutes of choreography at the end. There were 20 people in the orientation for a class that is capped at 10 people each week. I’m waitlisted for the next session on Saturday. The sessions repeat every six weeks, so I’m signed up for the rest of the series in March/April, which works fine for me. I’m not in a rush.

I meant to swim yesterday but forgot to take my gear with me during an errand, and so that went out the window. I did finally purge my closet after years of wanting to do so. At least the hanging rod is purged. I have more do to in the closet, but that was a big milestone and opens up a space to continue to do more instead of being perpetually paralyzed.

No $2 win for me – I matched zero numbers.

Friday night pot roast came out very tasty after cooking all afternoon in the dutch oven, that was kind of a pain to clean after. (I don’t use it too often)

Saturday afternoon we did a walkabout the neighborhood, I was thirsty so we stopped at The Corn House – (no beer, just got water, sodas, & a coxinha to share. We were the only gringos in there, and it was quite busy for 3pm.
Saturday night was a regifting party – I stole for some champagne flutes, Allan got some crazy coconut fish thing, It will be regifted somewhere, someday.

Sunday morning went down to Hedon – you probably don’t remember her, but Milk Me & her children were visiting, & Cheese Spread came up from FL. Went for a hike at Cochran Mill Park, their kiosk to pay wasn’t working (again, I have never had to pay at that park). With the kids 3 miles was enough. Then went to Cochran Mill Brewery for a beer before taking Cheese to the airport.

I have to say -the south side drop off & pickup makes no sense (I’m guessing the north side is the same, but I never go over there) – they have so many cones, you can’t change lanes, so everyone is just stopping wherever to drop off & pickup. It took 10-15 minutes to get thru that area.

  5. Burning some wood, rearranging the metaphorical deck chairs on the Titanic that is WLF today. None of my seed starts are growing, a-gain. I’m not to good at this food creation thing.

Just back from breakfast with the mizzus at Flying Biscuit in PTC. Was going to take the scooter, but it decided not to start.

Debbie did contract work with the former job Saturday and I met them for dinner. People on the Southside rave about “Curious Pig” but this is our second visit and we’re not impressed. Debbie’s entree was so salty it was inedible. My tacos were OK but the side of Brussels sprouts was hard as rocks.

Sunday, I should have ridden but opted to work on the farm sign. Only one routing oopsie where the machine ran with the grain when I wasn’t expecting it. Looks good.

Riding later. Wordle in 4. Coulda been 3.

And it looks like Nikon has accepted the lens as a warranty repair!

  8. In from choring, have showered and eaten lunch. Whew, I am whooped.

Went to Panera to get out – I know I’ve said it before, that place is too pricy. Food is good, but not sure $15 for soup & salad is something I’d do very often.

21 road bike miles in the bag. A little breezy, but otherwise about perfect out.
