I had a nice time watching Survivor with Barb and Sal last night.
They say “no guts, no glory”. I had no guts this morning, which is why I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts instead of four; my starter today was LARGE

Tough Wordle for me today, made it in 5 starting with VERSE.
33 again for the Mini, would have been less had I spelled the name of a Disney movie correctly.
Yeah, crosswords helped me today but I just couldn’t take the swing for my fourth guess.
Mini – Oaten??? what the hell – that threw me off.
Wordle – not a word I use – so I ended up failing
Yeah, I feel you on oaten. That’s definite crosswordese.
Bummer on the fail. Wordle definitely likes to keep us humbled.
7:30am, sitting at Waschsalon, just saw someone load a washing machine while holding a half-filled bottle of Corona. Baller! (not really, it’s Corona after all)
Unrelated: really with I could shake this low-level illness that has plagued me for over a week. It’s annoying to start each day at far less than 100%.
I bet that person works in the service industry.
Jenka – I was thinking that, or a 3rd shift person, just getting off work. Go find a 3rd shift bar, its amazing at the people drinking in the mornings. (there’s a few in Cedar Rapids)
Probably right. He could easily have been a bartender, or bouncer. Are there any all-night/late-night bars left in Atlanta?
The one i frequented was down on old national and served 3rd shift from the airport.
I am so glad it’s Friday. I’ve been struggling with fatigue all week and last night it hit me: I have jet lag! For the previous almost-two weeks I’d been going to bed and getting up three hours later than usual. Just like if I had traveled eastward. Hah!
Finn came home this week very excited about the new Wakanda Forever movie. So we’re going to see that tomorrow. Ugh.
Home from Waschsalon. Say what you will about it, but I find it satisfying to get nearly three weeks of dirty laundry washed, dried, and folded in two and a half hours. Now to motivate myself to put it all away in the next eight hours. Lol
It’s all about constraints. At the waschsalon there’s nothing else you can do. Once you’re back home, there’s any number of ways to fritter away your day (ask me how I know).
Here’s the way forward. Tell yourself that you need to do some programming work today. Suddenly putting your laundry away will become far more attractive. 😉
Hahah, you are so right!
Noticed one of my planting beds all but washed away from the rain the other day. It’s not a bordered raised bed, and was in the path of much rain runoff, so I am not surprised,
Out running errands. More later.
On Wednesday’s drive to work in the poouring a** rain I hit a puddle and think I did some damage to the front end of the poor little Mazda. $1300 later, 4 tires, real shocks and a right cv axle, i may have fixed it.
Happy Birthday to me!
Ouch. Sorry for that. I have hit so many gigantic potholes that I sweat that there will be problems down the literal road. Recall, that I already had to have a metal rim repaired a few years ago.
I know the CRV need 2 tires – I’ve only got 20,000 miles or so, but the alignment was/is off. I’m holding off……. since they are already a little messed up.
Good grief, man. Talk about our tax dollars at work.
Amazing that water could do so much damage. *ducks*
I know it’s late and probably no one will see this. Just did Wordle and got it in 2 using LEAST! Pretty pleased.
As you should! Bravo!
