I had my first yoga class since last weekend’s guided activity. I’ve been working with this teacher for at least 7 years now. She said it’s like I’m a whole new person. I have an ease and grace now that I’ve never had before. I settled quickly into doing partner work with a statuesque blonde woman that I’d never met. That work would have been excruciating just last week. My relentless pursuit of recovering from 18 years of childhood trauma has turned the biggest corner possible. I’m going to read Michael Pollan’s book How to Change Your Mind for context.
Wordle in 4 starting with VERSE. I should have started with BRAVE like I wanted to. I didn’t because thar word was a recent answer.
Happy Thanksgiving, all!
Sounds great, good on ya!
Thanks, Paulie!
I really need to get back to yoga.
Glad the weekend was a success – that’s awesome news.
Barb, it helps so much. Yoga is a forever thing for me now. And yes, the benefits from the weekend keep revealing themselves in amazing ways.
Wordle in 3 starting with TREAD. Mini completed with a cheat. I’m not fond of these current string of Mini’s.
My attempt at making a lemon meringue pie was pretty much a failure. The filling was OK, but prebaking the shell took 2 attempts and the meringue took 3 tries. And I had just turned away from the oven when I smelled smoke! If you peeled the burnt top off the pie, it tasted fine. Oh well, more practice I suppose.
David, so glad you are having successes!
Our best to the Raleigh Royality and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Thank you, Steve. It’s been a long time coming, that’s for sure. Which means don’t give up! Not ever.
bummer on the pie, this is a reminder why I don’t attempt any baking that is more complicated than brownies.
In your defense, meringue is super hard and even seasoned bakers have a hard time with it.
Family heirlooms delivered successfully! Amongst the few things I kept are two quilts made by my great-grandmother, some family china, and some sweaters knitted by my beloved grandmother who died in 2017. I always say that wearing her sweaters is like her giving me a hug.
We went to A Mano for dinner last night and it was excellent as usual.
I am at the office today and I am one of only two people in the entire suite. I love coming to the office when no one else is here. There is a dorm right next to my office building and I totally witnessed a walk of shame as I was coming in. NO judgment here! HAH!
Partying the week of Thanksgiving, surprised you didn’t see more than 1 walk of shame!!! I’m guessing these students can’t go home for the holiday – right? So, PARTY!!!!
Yep, always some students stick around for the holiday for whatever reason. You bet your ass I’d be partying!
It’s been so long it’d be a Walk of Triumph for me…
Went to Publix yesterday mid afternoon, it wasn’t as crazy as I thought it might be. And -forgot to get some celery damn it! (need it to make the turkey stock for the traditional after the holiday turkey soup)
Today is clean & organize day. Trying to find my tablecloths – I found 2, I need to find the 3rd one. We’ve got 24 people confirmed. It is going to be a casserole extravaganza.
And – its a good day today – I had an avocado that was perfectly ripe for my toast this morning!
Japan 2, Deutschland 1 at the 84 minute!!
Wow, I was fed bad data. When I checked the app said it was 2-0 Germany!
Bummer! Or as I would say in my nonsense German, Dangen!
is this considered an upset?
Indeed it is. Japan is good but Germany should have won.
Allan is up on the roof blowing leaves, it always makes me nervous.
The back of the house is 2 stories down to the paver patio.
(Front is all bushes & grass, that would just be annoying injuries)
At least the leaves are 3/4 or more down now.
I am choring at Wegmanns grocery store today. Hopefully a brewery will also be visited this afternoon.
Totally JEALOUS! I miss Wegman’s SO MUCH!
What was the NC based store we had here? Really fancy, high end stuff… Kroger ran them out of town after just a couple years.
Harris-Teeter. Those were swanky for sure. The first one I ever set foot in was mostly carpeted. I had never seen such a thing.
That’s it! We would trek from Tucker over to the one in Chamblee. I think they were a step below Whole Foods, but had normal grocery stuff. I guess they couldn’t compete against a true national brand.
Nah, Kroger is just greedy and soulless.
My first Wegman’s trip done. What a crazy store! I’m sure a lot of the commotion was due to Thanksgiving, but still.
My daughter got her learner’s permit today, and spent some time behind the wheel for the first time. She did GREAT! And I did great too with regard to teaching her. No freak outs! Initial practice was in an industrial park in Conyers. I like the Conyers DMV because there’s never any line, and I’d way rather drive then be held hostage in a government office. I got a little brave and let her drive from Six Feet Under back to my house. She came *really* close to side-swiping some cars, she’s still having to get a feel for depth perception. All’s well that ends well though. It’s a super-proud parenting day for me.
It’s been a good week for you! Here’s to hoping that continues.
The goodness is mushrooming for sure. I’m gonna ride this wave as far as I can, that is for sure.
I like what you did with that sentence
I knew you would! 😉
You are really coming around, letting her driver in the city already. What a dad you are!!!
Allan’s mom bought me some tablecloths at Big Lots – now I only have to search for more real silverware in the camper bins. I hate using plastic forks, etc.
Run to Goodwill
you know, I was looking for a bigger spoon one time, that I could bend (so I didn’t want to spend any real money) and I didn’t see any silverware at Goodwill that day. I have enough real stuff as long as everyone doesn’t think they need a 2nd fork for dessert. Then they will get plastic.
She’s a great kid. I’m just following her lead. 🙂 The first of what I’m sure will be an unending stream of “when can I drive again” has already started… 🙂
Well done David!
Next up….”Parallel Parking”:

Happy Thanksgiving Eddybody!

Thanks HwC!!
Thank you, John! Parallel parking is a little down the road for her, but we do live on a wide street and I do have two traffic cones, so thank you for the great suggestion.
That is exciting! When we were teaching Molly to drive we did a few lessons in the Carter Center parking lot. There’s never anyone there and the lot has several satisfactory turns.
Oh, sweet! That is excellent. Thank you, Jenka!
