If you know one thing about me, it’s that I hate waiting in lines. This might be the biggest reason that I like to get to stores early in the morning and get in and out before everyone else arrives. That is unless it’s below freezing outside; it’s 28°F outside as I type this.
My hope for today was to get out to Home Depot and Target, the former to buy LED lightbulbs rated for enclosed fixtures, the latter to pick up the order I placed yesterday. Of course the Midtown Home Depot doesn’t have the bulbs I want in stock, but the Jonesboro Road one does. I’m trying to build up the gumption to make a Target run after I wash yesterday’s dishes and take a shower.
This cold weather, along with the below freezing temperatures predicted over the next few days has me questioning the efforts I am making to grow plants outdoors in WLF. I might let the ones currently in the plot plod along, harvesting those that don’t literally freeze to death, and waiting a few months before I start planning 2022’s crop in earnest.
Because I had to,wait around for the electrician to arrive yesterday, my day was spent at home. The visit was done by 2pm, and by that time I was done with the idea of getting out to do anything.
When the rain arrived, admittedly not much, and the temperatures started to fall, my desire to go to the SLUT hash waned. Instead, I stayed at home, making a dinner of a baked melange of boxed stuffing mix, vegetarian sausages, the last of some green beans in the refrigerator, and a can of Rotel tomatoes. The concoction was good, and the oven provided some extra heat for the house as the temperatures continued dropping.
Today? Unsure except for what I have mentioned above. Sadly it might actually be too cold for my meager fire pit to provide sufficient warmth to sit around it drinking beer.
Tomorrow and Sunday hold worlds of options, as long as the temperatures and clothing selections are wise.
Here’s hoping you have a happy and healthy weekend.
I also finished reading a book this morning, “The Million Dollar Boyâ€, which was a gift from our friend Lisa over Thanksgiving. I figured I should read it before seeing her again, lest she beat me up. 😳😂
We should probably do some reccying…
Agreed. Should we today? Sunday? Worst case is that we piece together dry parts AH4 and BSH3 trails we laid in that area.
We need to look at the weather. I’ll text you.

Harrumph, Sunday’s weather looks incredibly shitty.
Back from Target. Will keep everything in the bag until I am rewarded my $10 gift card. If it doesn’t arrive electronically, or get credited to my account, I’ll be taking the entire lot back for a refund on Monday.
As a bonus for choring I stopped at Joe’s and bought a coffee, and took a bag of spent coffee grounds.
Gift card rewarded. Woot!
excellent news!!!!
I know, it’s a petty thing, but hey, it was their offer so I wanted them to make good on it.
I’m thinking we will go to hash happy hour tonight, its in Dunwoody, and a friend I kind of need to hang out with lives in Dunwoody. So, I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
We were supposed to go to a party Saturday night, the host says she has the flu, I’m guessing its covid, but she doesn’t really believe in all the covid shit. She believes in the power of essential oils, etc. We’ve decided we are over the argument with her. I hope she doesn’t get really sick, but oh well. I know, I’m a horrible person.
Best to stay away regardless, I assume.
Tomorrow I have conflicting interests:
– Sani is haring in Tucker and ending at High Card Brewing. I feel a little obligated to advertise Glory Mole’s and my AH4 trail next Saturday.
– My buddy Shelby is coming to East Atlanta Village to drink at Hippin Hops.
We might hash Saturday.
Thought I was getting into a Curion survey on 1/17 but like Lucy they pulled the football away just as I was about to kick it. 😢
I have taken the initial steps to join a drug trial for those that have had a heart attack. So far I have a physical scheduled with them for early Feb. I’m having second thoughts, as it will be a monthly visit for 2 and a half years at $75 a trip… to Dunwoody! Now if I can time it to my Games meetings, great, but that’s a big if.
Cold last night and we didn’t drain the plumbing at the barn. We shall see shortly just how cold and if the insulation did or didn’t do its job.
Tomorrow, after work, we head to friend Nicole’s 50th birthday. Rented hall, dinner, music, dancing, and FORMAL! Got my tux out earlier this week to make sure it hadn’t shrunk. It did a little.

Yikes, I don’t like traveling to Dunwoody from here, never mind from your neck of the woods.
My tux can’t shrink because it’s non-existent. 😂
clothes shrinking in the closet sucks. it has happened to me as well.
If i can tie it to the Games meetings then it coud work.
Went out into WLF without a hat or gloves. Man alive it’s cold out there.
Reccying this afternoon, will be sure to bundle up for that!
