It was my intent to sit and read this morning, but my dilly (not good) dallying has put me behind schedule.
“Schedule? You are a man of leisure!” I hear you speak aloud.
Hardly, my friends. Hardly.
This morning I have scheduled an appointment at CHaRM in an effort to rid the ITP Estate of some of the recyclable materials I have been gathering since my last trip there. Plastic bags, styrofoam, scrap metals, glass of many colors, some old paint and chemicals, a broken coffee maker — all of these have taken residence in my carport and will be whisked away this morning. There will be a second benefit to this trip, I will be picking up ITP-Reader Bonnie and we will finally be able to catch up.
Catching up seems to be today’s theme.
Last night I went over Betsy’s to catch up with her. I made chili using Impossible Burger meat and a boxed spice mix from Carroll Shelby. I also freestyles by using non-alcoholic beer instead of water. It was a tasty concoction, if I do say so myself. With the chili I served some cornbread muffins I baked for the occasion, and a green salad. Of course there were also toppings of cheese, sour cream, and corn chips… Betsy and I watched another episode of “Top Chef: Portland” before discussing the finale of “The Great British Bake Off” as well as booster shots and local politics (on the highest level since I am not very learned in the matter).
To be thematic I will also say that I caught up a little more on the choring in WLF, spending most of my time cutting up branches into fire pit length, and making a cursory cleaning of the fire pit patio for a fire I hope to sit around tomorrow evening.
Here is a capture of the color of the leaves on the Japanese Maple tree in my backyard:
After my morning errands I may try to capitalize on this fantastic weather by choring in WLF again. We’ll see…
Tonight might be my return to the SLUT hash. The trail is near home (Benteen Park, just south of Grant Park) and the food will be cooked by Jackass. Now The Deaner is not known for his vegetarian food prowess, but he’s friendly to Bonnie, so there may be chow for the vegheads.
Hope your December has kicked off nicely.

Day 1: Kristoffel Belgian White from Brouwerij Martens
We decided to at least wait a bit before pulling the trigger on the tree guys. We have our land clearing guy Brian coming by to take a look. He has big toys and could make easy work of it. One of my standard lines is if you spend enough money with a company, you should be on their Christmas card list- who was the first card we got? From the fence guys!
We rearranged the schedule at work once again. We (Sam or myself) need to be onsite while a contractor is working for us starting Monday. Sam is taking next week, I’ll have the following week (while he’s on PTO), then I’m on PTO, then he’s back on PTO… burn it or lose it.
Debbie leaves shortly for a girls/horses weekend at Biltmore Estate. Who knew they have 60 miles of riding trails?

It my be considered a benefit to them, but I’d avoid the Biltmore Estate like the COVID since I am sure it’s overrun with people visiting for the Christmas decorations.
I was just thinking, well it didn’t seem so bad last year, but then I figured out I went in 2019. 😂 Wow, 2 years!
Huh, for some reason I thought you went last year too. ðŸ˜
Nice photo Paulie.
Danke
Nearly 2pm EST, and I’m hanging up my choring clothes for the day.
Though it sound as if there will be no vegetarian food tonight (seriously?) I will attend SLUT with Bonnie. Perhaps if the vegheads show up and complain this oversight will not occur again.
