They said that it will be a cold day in November when the Marietta Braves win another World Series. Brrrrr! I know that I should be happy for the Braves, but I am not a fan. It’s a good thing for me that I have the ability to return to sleep quickly as I was awoken by the midnight fireworks that were set off upon their victory.
After returning home and eating lunch yesterday I went outside with my itchy forearms to work in WLF. I winterized two more pepper plants, planted some more garlic cloves, and then brought out Wee Little Chipper to chew through some of the branches that I have been cutting down. I have a lot more branches to chip once the leaves still attached to them dry up.
Thanks for the reminder that I have Fels-Naphtha in the house, Lurker. I will be washing my arms with it often, though I fear that the irritant has already set in and I will be on an all too familiar wild ride of discomfort for the next handful of weeks.
As I type this I am currently “watching” a British home improvement show called “Love Your Garden”. It’s a show which is nearly an exact duplicate of a show called “Garden Force” that I watched on BBC America over twenty years ago and even has the same host, a man named Alan Titchmarsh.
This morning I am off to Conyers to pick up my fertilizer. I hope both bags are still there, since they were delivered to the store five days apart.
This being Wednesday means that I will be hanging out with Betsy tonight. She has offered to cook tonight, so I am off the hook until next week.
Hope that your week is going well, and you are remaining healthy.
So I wonder where the Marietta Braves will have their victory parade? Along the Toller Coaster? Around the square? Rah.
As I was picking up neighbor Steve’s tractor, he rolled in and told story of their hunting trip. As they were riding back in to civilization one of the staff’s pack horses lost it’s footing and fell down a 30 foot embankment, taking the staff horse and rider down with it. The kid was unhurt and apologetic as some of their gear was damaged. Steve explained how lucky they all were they weren’t calling for a life flight for the kid, as his horse rolled over the top of him… wow.
The disking and seeding went fine last night, though I might have had the disk a little deep to start. Not trying to turn, but more break up the top crust so the seed can get a hold to start. Will drag later today and maybe see if I can get my roller to work.
25 minutes on the trainer listening to the last of my podcasts. Car Talk is now rerunning complete “old” shows, recorded at WBUR in Boston (our fair city) MA! Still as funny as ever. And in case you have more bandwidth for some informational podcasts I highly recommend “Make Me Smart”, produced by the Marketplace folks. Good info, good perspective and pretty funny at times.

I had the same thought about the parade Steve, are they gonna go up 41 past the big chicken then do a lap around the Marietta square? 🙂
Just saw on the news, the parade will start at Centennial Park downtown, then they will bus the players to the Cobb Energy Center, then it will go from there to Truist Park.
So, basically 2 parades in the same day.
Good luck with the poison ivy, I do fear the damage may be done if there was a delay in using the soap. If I had symptoms that really do last weeks, I would seek out a round of steroids from my doctor or an urgent care place to move that process along.
Just writing about it is making me itchy! 😟
I was talking to someone (I had just met) about the Braves & the move to a new stadium. She agreed it was the City of Atlanta’s fault they moved, they cared more about the Falcons & their new stadium than the Braves. Then she said…. Think about who actually buys the tickets & goes to games “spending money”. The answer…. The suburb people. So, the move made perfect sense, money wise. I hadn’t really thought about that, but it does make sense. I didn’t watch the game (baseball is way to slow for my attention span).
Bummer about the PI. My garlic is growing, the fall lettuce I planted, not doing very well.
