Sometimes I miss the version of me that would have already gone to Lowe’s by this time in the morning. Granted it’s cooler and darker than it was at this time in June, but I still feel lazy. Perhaps I’ll muster up the gumption tomorrow. Because you know what they say, “You can’t find $5 in the parking lot if you don’t go to the store.”

Last night I joined Bonnie for a trip over to Oakhurst for the hash. Billed as a “Halloween Decoration Tour” it turned out to be more of a run than tour, which is fine, even though I didn’t see many impressive displays of Halloween decorations. After trotting around for 4.25 miles I shared a vegetarian Cuban sandwich and fries with Bonnie, and drank my own pint of beer at the newly-opened Ford’s BBQ in Oakhurst.

Today I will be doing a lot of outdoor choring. While I need to get on the stick for relearning my coding skills, I see that the weather is supposed to turn sour in a couple of days so I’ll figuratively make hay while the sun shines today. I also have out-of-the-house commitments tomorrow and Thursday which will take away some of my time.

With no “Only Murders in the Building” to watch tonight I might catch up on some other shows while I sit at home tonight eating dinner. Or, I might treat myself to some pleasure reading time. 😮 Yesterday I finished reading the book about pawpaws that I have been reading recently. 🤯

Hope that your week has started frighteningly well.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 184.6 pounds (-2.8 from last week’s weigh-in); back closer to where I where I want to be.

  1. Whoa, it’s a bit chilly outside today.

It also sounds very windy! Not really looking forward to driving my sailboat on the expressway this morning…

I haven’t really been outside yet, but with the windows open last night, it was damn chilly in the bedroom. I closed the window by the back door when I got up and it’s only now risen to 64 in the house.

Not much to report from yesterday. No exercise (slacker!), caught on Track Worlds coverage- good coverage on GCN, but the announcers are pretty much “homers” for the Brits.

Friday’s annual visit with the cardiologist is now a virtual meet up. Not sure how long his stethoscope is, but we shall see.

And Sunday Sunday Sunday! Cyclocross at the Dick Lane Velodrome! I’m not sure how this is going to work, but I’ll find out as I’m now working it. Come on down!!

What time is it? Is there an online link? I most likely can’t as I have to prepare for a little trick-or-treat gathering I’m hosting. (My ITP-reader friends are welcome, it’s just handing out candy from my porch to hopefully lots of kids via a “candy chute” along with a little alcohol and I usually cook something warm in the crockpot.)

Today is paper towel pickup in Sandy Springs for Jackson. Need to figure out another errand over that way to make the drive worth it.

Oil change ppwk has only 3 quarts of oil, the guy checked on it, that’s the specs. New cars confuse me.

  4. Back from Aldi. For the first time I was skunked on almond milk as they were out of the variety — sweetened, unflavored — that I like to drink.

  5. Barb says:

At the Kirkwood Public House having lunch with Allan. I’ve never been down here to see his firehouse, thought today was as good as day as any.

Nice little walk with Davey this morning too.

Just used my 1st roll of paper towels to clean the inside of my windshield. They seem pretty much like paper towels are supposed to. This should be an interesting questionnaire in a couple days.

  7. Are they intended for auto use? I am always in search for towels that are lint free and don’t streak.

  8. With the sun lower in the sky it seems later in the afternoon since it’s shady out in WLF now. I spent my morning and a few afternoon hours cutting down, and then cutting up some trees in the front yard.
