It’s past 7am and I am just starting to move this morning. I think I’m getting the hang of the out of work life even before I am out of work. It was a fitful night of sleep for me, and since it rained (again) overnight I am not discouraged that I didn’t go to Lowe’s nor that I am not out choring this morning.
Not a whole lot happened yesterday, other than the discovery of the worms/caterpillars in my only zucchini, and running the hash last night.
Given that the Moonlight hash was mostly road, as one should expect around East Atlanta, I did try to actually run last night. I didn’t run particularly well, though I ran okay for as much as I run these days.
Today? Well there is work I suppose. And then I suppose that I will join Bonnie on a journey to hang out with some friends playing trivia in Buford. I know it sounds insane to travel out there for trivia but it’s where they love/play and we are doing it to be friendly.
Guess since it’s already “late” I should shuffle off to the office.
Have a healthy and happy day.
Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 181.8 pounds (0.0 from last week’s weigh-in); whew, I though it was going to be bad this week.
Just found out that there is an electronic process in order to resign from “XYZ Corp, Mark IIâ€. Oh well, job done, figuratively and (nearly) literally.
Yesterday morning Davey &Mark joined me for what ended up being a 7 mile walkabout.
Started at the Bob Callen trailhead, went down to the Chattahoochee at Paces Mill, then up Cobb Pkwy around Cumberland mall, then made our way over to the Battery. (Davey had never been over there). Found beers at Terrapin at mile 6, then 1 mile back to the cars.
It wasn’t super hot, but hot enough, and of course hilly.
Got home & cut the grass, all this rain just keeps it growing fast.
Next door neighbor has a big tarp on the house, and the tree guys worked on removing all the tree yesterday. A house in the cul-de-sac behind was getting tree work yesterday too, lots of noise in the ‘hood all day.
Davey and Chew Chew made an appearance at the hash last night too. I remember him telling me that he’d never been to the Battery.
Mowed my grass last week, if the heat returns may have to do so again before the weekend.
Everything at the ITP Estate is wet. I guess I will return to choring tomorrow.
Where was the end last night?
Flatiron in EAV
And unfortunately because of the rain we were inside. I am hesitant to eat/drink inside these days but admit I let my guard again down last night.
I’m annoyed I haven’t been able to record much of the velodrome from Tokyo. I had a recording of most of the team pursuit, but ended on the hour and nothing ever picked up the rest. I have timer set, but there isn’t a clear broadcast schedule. The Roku will show it live, but it an afternoon event there, which means early overnight here. (+13 hours).
I chickened out on a road ride yesterday. The radar showed a lot of rain coming and had I got moving, could have made it.
The upcoming Grant Park crit has $20k for the women’s field! Cyclingnews had that headline… only $5k for the pro men! I think folks might show up for that.

When is the Grant Park Crit? I used to know when it was the day after the one in EAV that no longer exists.
August 21
Ah, camping weekend.
Steve, we should get a group together to attend the event at the velodrome Sept. 18–if it was a “private party†I wouldn’t have mentioned it on the blog yesterday. 🙂
True dat!
In from a WLF walkabout prompted by two things:
1. I noticed my experimental shade dome created from one of the plastic panels in my old tv snapped in half. 😮
2. I think I saw a frog scampering about the puddles which have formed in the plastic tarp portion of WLF. ðŸ˜
And, hummingbirds have found the feeder I have hung and are constantly amusing me.
Oh boy, I finally created a Peach Pass account, expect in the near future that I will have to get a new car invalidating this Peach Pass, and what a hot mess! Their password “security†limits the user to a 8-12 character password that must contain at least one “special†character from a limited set. 🤦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸
Even worse, I was going to download their mobile app but it has mostly all one star reviews. 🤦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸
And speaking of failures, the CoA failed to pick up yard waste on their own defined limited schedule again!
I hear that the Sunshine pass is better, and all works the same as Peach. They may have fixed the PP, but who knows.
Not if you read the app reviews. I know PP can be used in FL and NC too, perhaps I should have bought one of theirs…
Peach pass website does stink. Once you get your car / plate in there, it works fine. It charges $20 when you get below $10. I emailed them when my plate only had the numbers listed (no letters), they fixed it, by adding another line.
But, I don’t care, it seems to work ok now. The App is pretty questionable too.
Change cars, add another vehicle, it’s all the same account. I think mine has the old CRV & the Toyota van (both long gone) still in there.
Went outside and was attacked by mosquitoes. In swatting them my AppleWatch asked me if I had fallen. 😂
Could you use more frogs? I can hook you up…
Haha. I’m not sure where they’d live as I have no pond. I only know they exist nearby because I “rescued†one from a water bucket, and I think I saw one today. They are certainly not eating all of the slugs however…
