Blog post is a bit late this morning because I had to give some TLC to WLF and somehow spent over ninety minutes doing so. 🤯 One of the chores I did was transplant some unhappy squash plants into the the WLF “Experimental Zone†where I plant things directly into the ground — like an animal; all four of the squash plants that I started about six weeks ago are struggling, so rather than watch them continue to do so I moved two as an experiment.
Except for the lack of alcohol it was a lot like 2019 inside Betsy’s house as we ate dinner while watching Top Chef. I ate too much of the pizza and chicken that I purchased at Kroger prior going over to her house. Chicken? Yes, chicken. We watched the second episode of last year’s All Star 2 season, and I headed home around 9:30pm.
Prior to going to Betsy’s I did some work for The Man, and some for WLF. Today? More of the same.
The other day I noticed that the AT&T (née BellSouth) Tower no longer has that name on it. As it turns out, AT&T have moved out, which surprised the hell out of me, as I always thought that they owned that building. My first work gig in Atlanta was contracting to BellSouth in that building back in 1995.
Oh look, Google updated the YouTube app for AppleTV and managed to find space for more advertising! 🤦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸
Happy Hump Day + 1, we’re so close to the weekend that I can almost taste the beer. Stay healthy, be happy.
Providence Canyon was really cool. We hiked the rim first, had a lunch break at the visitors center, then went back and hiked all the canyons. 6 miles total. Lazy morning at the campsite then packing up and perhaps a stop in Columbus for lunch and a walkabout on the River Walk (or whatever it’s called). Or as the campsite host called it, Kill-umbus because of all the shootings there now. She said it’s not safe even during the day. 🙄
Sounds like a fantastic time.
I’ve not heard about the shootings, which is no surprise because I hate the news. Every time I open the Washington Post app I feel dread and quickly close it.
Should be a brewery in Columbus, just don’t tell your man that’s where you want to go. 😉
I still haven’t been to Providence Canyon, someday…..
Trip to Oxford (Anniston) was easy, but I-20 had plenty of construction, so we decided to take the scenic route back via hwy 78. Stopped in Tallapoosa for a bbq lunch, it was just ok. Probably took a little longer, but at least we kept moving.
I’m curious what bank it was- trying to think who has a presence in Alabama and westward that doesn’t have a presence here. Compass? Hibernia?
Is AmSouth still in business? They were the bank with whom I banked when I lived in AL.
BBVA.
I guess it’s getting merged with PNC at some point, but they didnt know that until yesterday.
I just Googled and found out that AmSouth merged with Regions in 2006.
Bonnie, we’re on the way home if you wanted to stop and see the baby.
As I’m working a bike race Saturday, I started preparations by mounting my rack of stopwatches on the scooter. I don’t know if I will be in a situation to need them, but you never know.
I don’t know what else we did yesterday- not a lot. Watched an episode of Nature, where they built a watering hole and equipped it with cameras to track all the comings and goings. Pretty neat.
50km to go and a break of 14 has 10 minutes on the field In and out of rain and I don’t think it’s too warm.

Steve, so racing is starting back? Where are you going?
Just around the corner to Brooks. They raced in Commerce a couple weeks ago. Racing is happening at the velodrome as well.
