I think my buddy Shelby and I feel the same way about our German class — we are both in way over our heads. My books are supposed to be delivered today, perhaps this will help me?

The only other things worth mentioning from yesterday is that I did a hard 45 minutes on the trainer — yay, and that I had a horrible night of sleep — boo.

Today’s meal plan is to eat leftovers for breakfast and lunch, and then whip up a meal — my variation on this Creamy Thai Sweet Potato Curry recipe — for virtual “Top Chef” dinner with Betsy tonight.

Kroger sent out an email stating that as of today they will attempt to regulate the number of customers concurrently in their stores. This will be interesting to see when I make my one trip there, most likely tomorrow.

Have a great day all.

  1. We were reminded yesterday that “XYZ Corp” has a paid holiday coming this Friday for Good Friday. What fun, wonderful, things will I do on my day off? Oh, wait. ☹️

Ugh. That reminds me, I need to dig out the color pencils and color in my Easter egg printout to hang in the window for my neighborhood’s “Easter egg hunt.”

  3. Steve says:

A nice quiet anniversary. Work, ride, pick up dinner from Knife and Stone in Newnan, binge on 2 episodes of Outlander (yes, we are way behind the curve).

Already have rebooted 3 times today. I may just have to write today off.

Hopefully, will be able to ride to pick up the car this afternoon.

  4. What really sucks for me during this time is dealing with my dermatological issues during a time when going to see any doctor is difficult. I wish there was a way to cure me for once and for all… 😕

    • ITP Lurker says:

They may be offering telemedicine appointments. I know my dermatologist is. I’m grateful I quit procrastinating and got in to see her just before the world shut down.

    • I may look into that, but unfortunately the area for which I need help is not easily described nor evaluated via phone (don’t think too hard about this 😬). I did get to my dermatologist too, but I am such a goddamn special snowflake…

Some days I feel my body is an older sibling that takes joy in tormenting me. Yeah, that’s the best way I can describe it.

      • Steve says:

We all know you’re a special kind of snowflake. 😉

      • ITP Lurker says:

Sounds like a pain in the ass to me. Sorry, couldn’t resist. 😉 Hang in there, and keep in mind, it’s very likely something they’ve seen countless times before. You’re special, but not THAT special.

so – attempted a zoom family meeting- with my brother trying to get my parents online – the chromebook I think may be too old to work – it keep freezing.
so – my mom just held my brothers phone – that was interesting.
birthday boy – my 90 year old dad – he got bored with it really fast – my guess is he couldn’t hear us very well. Might do it again – my mom got a kick out of it.

Went & got some Mexican food & to go margaritas last night – Mexican food is not a to go food to me, I need to eat it there. Our little place said business is terrible – I hope they make it thru this. 32 oz margarita in a to go cup was good though.

    • I can’t imagine trying to get my mother on a Zoom or FaceTime call, good thing she doesn’t have the technology for either.

I also can’t imagine how bad businesses is for restaurants. Sadly I think more than a few will have to abandon ship when this is all said and done, no matter how much crowdfunding occurs.

I don’t consider Mexican food as “to go” food either, I think it’s best eaten there with copious amounts of chips and salsa.

Mom didn’t understand it all at first – but then she realized she could talk to all of us at the same time. Her brain is going, so she’d forget what just happened -but she enjoyed it. Dad – not so much. We can’t do facetime because some dont’ have iphones.

        • ITP Lurker says:

Google Duo works like Facetime but across Android/iPhone, if someone can install it on your Mom’s phone for her.

If you can, I suggest doing the grocery run very first thing in the morning when they open. Not only are you guaranteed to get in, but the shelves will have been replenished overnight. That’s my plan going forward! I’ve found it’s worked well already.

  7. Bonnie says:

Whoops, yesterday apparently was National Beer Day. Fail.

    • Well, these days we shouldn’t limit ourselves where we don’t have to do so. 🙌🏻

    • Stacy says:

Hey now, Bonnie! I reminded everyone of that on my Book of Faces…. what, you don’t hang on my every word there? 😉

For those wondering why, it was because April 7th 1933 was when alcohol sales were allowed again after Prohibition ended. *shooting star The More You Know rainbow here*

  8. Thinking about doing some wash at home, aka “hand washing”; just hand washed what will be the outer layer of my headgear tomorrow. “Head”? Who said “head”?!?! 😁

However, drying is always the problem. Thinking about seeing if I can string a clothesline (and hope pollen doesn’t get on everything), or inspecting my old dryer to see if it still works. Because, you know, the dryer doesn’t need plumbing.

    Just an idea.

  9. WTF

I was walking through my house barefoot and I put my right foot down and my right calf hurt like hell. It’s like the muscle cramped, seized, whatever with no indication that this was going to occur. I put Icy/Hot on it and am trying to “walk it off” but neither is proving much relief.

So much for my thought of exercising today. 😢
