Pretty boring evening. I worked later than I normally do and ate dinner at the office thinking that I’d be walking across to Colony Square for German class; I did not. Instead of German class I decided to put “exercise first”, given that I was too tired to do it immediately after awaking as was planned yesterday, and headed home. I did 45 minutes on the trainer and by the time I was finished it was past 8pm. Not much productivity happens at the ITP Estate after 9:0ppm these days, and that was also the case last night.

Thanks to COVID-19 I will be working from home for the remainder of this week, and perhaps next. Woot? I had already planned to work from home today because I have a mid-day appointment with my tax preparer. Another reason it was going to be beneficial to work from home today is that tonight is the annual Founders Day hash for Black Sheep and I didn’t want to have to fight traffic to get to the start. Well, wouldn’t you know, the start for tonight’s Black Sheep hash is Grant Park! 😮🎉

After a good dental checkup in Stone Mountain, we had the pre-meeting meeting in Norcross at Iron Horse Tavern. With Country Living not following us this year, we have options on the field regarding layout. AS far as the actual meeting, with the president at home after knee replacement surgery, I was left in charge. 34 minutes, start to finish. Not a new record, but pretty close. And we actually accomplished things!

Sitting at home, trying to stay connected. 3 reboots so far this morning. I LOVE TECHNOLOGY.

I came into the office, since Allan needed a nap before we head to the airport.
I’m out of here at 10 or 1030.
I spent too much money booking tours in Barcelona, but I decided I don’t want us to just wander around for days.
I also put an international travel pass on my phone – so I can use it if I need to.
I like maps, so I figure that I may need it to find our way around.

good thing about all the people cancelling their travel – we got upgraded to first class on the ATL to JFK leg. Still just Comfort for the JFK to Barcelona, but I did get an email- I can upgrade to Delta One for $850 per person. I’ll stay in Comfort class.

    • Bonnie says:

Of course I would NEVER pay for it, but the one time I got upgraded to Delta One was the shit!!!! Maybe better than the trip, LOL. Guess I better savor those memories before Coronavirus gets the husband furloughed and I’m homeless…. (Keep on flying, Barb!! 🤣)

    • Germany announced today that they have at least one confirmed case, and that it fears 70% of its population will get Coronavirus. Perhaps it’s good that I didn’t get around to planning a trip this year, not that I have the finances to do so now…

  3. Bonnie says:

Working from home? Is that mandated or “if you’d feel more comfortable working from home you can?”

After being sick for over a week I think I am well enough to hash tonight but I’m still feeling out the situation today… While I *know* running around in the cold night air isn’t the best idea, I really don’t want to miss it. Plus, I need to stay on track to get my mug at Table Rock!! 😂🙄

  4. Bonnie says:

I saw that Sleater-Kinney is coming back to town in August (with Wilco) but the show is at Chastain Park. It pains me to say this, but no thank you I think I’ll have to pass… 😥😥😥

    • I saw that this morning too. As much as I would like to see both bands, I’ve never seen Wilco live 😮, Chastain is a dealbreaker for me too.

      • barb says:

I like Chastain – I don’t think its any worse than any other bigger venue. People are too busy recording the show with their phones, or just taking selfies, I don’t think it matters where anymore.

  5. Steve says:

Now that I “can” work from home, especially after the Tuesday meetings, I’m going to try.

  6. Steve says:

Barb, I hoped you remembered to add the phone coverage. I’d hate to think you won’t be on the blog while you’re over there!!

  7. Was going to eat vegetarian buffet after my taxes meeting, but for some reason buffet-style eating isn’t appealing to me today.

  8. With the stock market collapsing who can afford $1500/mo studio apartments or $600k (and up!) townhouses?

    • Barb says:

Annette’s rental townhouse is mid 2000s. There are so many extra charges, valet garbage, other resort fees (pool, gym, etc)
Renting is crazy expensive I found out.

    • Bonnie says:

My 900 sf 1/1 apartment was $1,500 + some fees (Nov. 2016). It was expensive, but man I loved living in that small space! One of the least stressful times of my life. It did have its drawbacks, and of course a lot of my stuff was in storage LOL.

  9. ITP Lurker says:

Lost a tiny bit of weight at the dermatologist, I’ll find out next week if it’s of concern. It’s not melanoma, and I was advised not to run home and empty out my 401(k). Thanks ya’ll, for getting me off the dime and getting into the dermatologist. I got in under the wire, her husband works for the CDC and she’s not going to see any new patients for a couple of months. Social distancing is going to be the new normal.

    Safe travels, Barb!

    • Barb says:

Wow, no new patients, but current patients are ok?
I got my results that the 4 spots they tested are all no problems. Yippie!
      At the airport- eating pizza

      • ITP Lurker says:

I don’t know. Her husband who works at the CDC had her wearing a mask all day yesterday, she gave up on that pretty quick. I think there’s going to be lots of bewildering decisions made across the board in the coming months.

And hey, social distancing isn’t new here on the blog, it’s what we do every day! 😉

  10. Received an email telling me I needed to update my Yahoo mail. The email conveniently provided a link for doing so.

Of course I didn’t click the link. I first checked the sender’s address, which looked suspect, and then at the URL behind the link which of course was not an official ATT/Yahoo address.

This has been a public service announcement!
