If you are reading this I am glad to hear that you made it through a bitterly cold night. After volunteering (pulling privet, something I need to do at home!), and then having a few beers and sandwiches, I returned home to plop onto the couch and promptly take over an hour’s long nap under warm covers. Bliss!
Given my tiredness and the predicted temperature there was no hope to do Moonlite even though it had a very favorable-for-me start at the Inman Park MARTA station. Instead, I stayed at home and made a delicious faux Chinese dinner of bourbon tofu.
I keep thinking that today is Monday, which might be the only excuse I need to skip German class tonight.
I’m a bit sore today from bending over and pulling, as I figured I’d be. It was a good day with 15-20 of our friends—and thank goodness the sun was out! If you skip German class Paulie, won’t you just be mad at yourself later? Unless of course your classmate is still sick and coughing all over everybody… But do what you want, you’re a grown-ass adult. 🙂
I will be slightly disappointed, but with my constantly-nagging ailments I am starting too feel less social.
Fair enough, I understand. 🙂
It was a bit chilly this morning! The car said 23 when I hopped in and that was exactly the forecast.
I battled an ailing tractor yesterday. Wanted to dig a hole for a post for Debbie’s Christmas present- a farm bell (to call the horses). Tractor would turn over all day but never catch. After checking the obvious (fuel, air), my Mahindra FB group suggested power to the glow plugs (diesel) and after checking there was, decided to do a bit more investigating- cleaned each connection for better contact and V’ROOM! Bell and post now installed.
Debbie made chili for dinner and we then enjoyed 2 episodes of The Crown. Starting to get to “modern history” which is interesting. One episode was about the moon landing and meeting the astronauts.

That was an interesting episode.
We made a chicken corn chowder crock pot recipe that Davey told me was tasty – and it was tasty. I think we will add some spice to it next time, give it a little kick.
Watched episode 7 of the Country Music documentary – but some how it cut off 30 minutes early. Searching PBS, they show it here & there, but right now all I could find is #4 & #5. I’m sure I could pay for it- but that’s crazy talk.
I need to start planning clothes to wear in Iowa this weekend – its looking like it will be snowy & cold. yuck.
I tried to post once already but it wouldn’t let me… let’s try again!
Barb – just set your DVR to record any episodes, new or repeat. Within the next 2 weeks it should capture episode 7 again. That’s what I did when I somehow deleted an episode I hadn’t yet watched. 🙂
Steve – that episode of The Crown was very cool, but the astronaut meeting was totally cringe-worthy. It portrayed the Americans as juvenile (at best) and idiots (at worst). I get the point it was trying to make about bursting Phillip’s bubble and bringing him back down to earth (pun intended) …but I didn’t care much for the portrayal. I can’t imagine they were THAT backward or wouldn’t have been briefed on how to behave in each country they toured after returning.
I don’t disagree, but remember they were reasonably young and new to the celebrity situation. I don’t doubt they were as agog at their surroundings as Phillip initially was with them.
Upon further review, they weren’t “that” young. Neil was 38, as was Mike Collins. Buzz Aldrin was 39, so maybe the “gee whiz” was a little over the top.
Oh boy, my credit card has been compromised and two attempts to use it were made in Florida. Bank called, card number invalidated, new card on its way.
always a good time – love when that happens. AmEx has been really good when that has happened tome, biggest pain in changing anything online that has that CC number
This is a credit card that I use almost exclusively in person and not for online purchases. The only exceptions are for the City of Atlanta’s services, this means that I cannot pick up an Amazon purchase tonight because I can’t pay for parking now. 😡
