Starting my day at Silver Skillet. Twenty-one years ago I worked in the office building next door, and have been up the street for 2.5 years. Why don’t I eat here more often?

Along with caffeine starting at 9:30am, and all food/beverages starting at midnight, one of the other things that I need to avoid today is strenuous activity. No problem there.

I binge-watched the second season of “Fleabag” last night. While I came to appreciate the show, I can’t say that I understand all that I saw. Opinions?

  1. Next up: rewatching and then finishing “The Marvelous Mrs Maisel” since I understand a new season is imminent. Also, I am considering watching the entirety of “Mad Men” and “Sherlock” again.

I need to get back to the Silver Skillet. It’s probably been 15 years since I last ate there. That’s fantastic about more Mrs. Maisel. I want to watch Unbelievable on Netflix. The ProPublica article from 4 years ago was definitely unbelievable. https://www.propublica.org/article/false-rape-accusations-an-unbelievable-story
Succession is also on my to watch list.

Fleabag: the way they kept breaking the 4th wall was brilliant. Especially the priest in season 2. And Mrs. Maisel not Mrs. Maiden — but I’m guessing maybe a little auto-correct happened there. Nice to hear that will be back soon; I really enjoy that show.

I keep really hoping there will be some good new programming this fall but I haven’t seen any that is jumping out at me yet. I like having “my shows” because it’s my wake-up routine in the morning to watch something with coffee before work. Anyone looking forward to anything special?

Where is “Fleabag”? I saw they got several Emmy’s Sunday but had never heard of the show. Of course, I’m not as plugged in as all the rest of you hip kids. And ready for another season of TMMM (solved that autocorrect issue).

I will once again attempt to get to the German event today. I hear food trucks- hopefully the German one that shows up at the stage race in March will be there. Wunderbar!

The Games are coming- make plans to attend. 10/19 and 20. Groupon has a deal.

we are just finishing up Mrs Maisel season 2. I gotta say, I now want to go to the Catskills. I episode left.

Fleabag – I told Allan we may have to watch it someday -but we are way behind on the binge watching shows. Amazon Prime leaves my easy access button on my TV 9/26, so we will have to learn to use the FireStick we bought.

NCIS (the original) has Ziva back – I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with her character.

I loved Fleabag. I like flawed and/or troubled characters, and dark underlying themes. I also love quirky characters with strong personalities and that have no filter—probably because I wish I were more like them (not in all ways, Paulie 😉). I liked her breaking the fourth wall.

Paulie, I watched the Sherlock yesterday about Guy Fawkes Night 🙂. (Paulie and I co-hared my first hash on Guy Fawkes Night last year and he made koozies to commemorate the event.)

  7. In more streaming media news, I just saw that Netflix is releasing the second season of “Abstract” today! 👏🏻

This late report- I had the German exhibition all to myself! Chatted with a company that is building an electric motor that will go inline between a turbocharger and a transmission. Talked with the folks from BASF and learned that “magic erasers” are their product and you might as well buy the cheapest one as they are all the same- and the cleaning function was discovered by accident- they were designed as sound dampening foam.

A good schnitzel sandwich from my favorite German food truck. Hopefully their business will pick up in the evening.

    • I swung by to take a look for five minutes before my lunch meeting, it was empty then too. I keep trying to support the Germanic efforts here, but most times I am one of the few…

Sandwich from Bratplatz? One day when they are around I will make it a meat day.

I decided we are going to go something tonight we’ve never done – go to the N GA State Fair over at Jim R Miller Ppark in Smyrna.
I got us half priced tickets to get in ($3.50 instead of $7) at O’Reilly Auto Parts at lunch.
Our cabinet guy is working there with the boy scouts selling roasted corn, so I decided maybe us getting in front of him will remind him we need to get to work on our bench seating next week! (once he’s done being a carny)
