Yesterday was an unremarkable day during which I drank too much beer.

As my birthday month comes to a close I’ll be tripping over to IKEA later to see if there is anything there on which I want to spend money, in order to use an expiring coupon. And, I’ll be hoofing it over to Chick-fil-A (spoiler alert: meat day) to use a coupon that expires today, for a free sandwich.

Still don’t know if Willow has a UTI. The vet’s machine wasn’t working so they had to send the sample out to a third-party lab and the results won’t be back until tomorrow. Until then we have to try and keep her eating a little. And hope she doesn’t throw up. Nigel seems to be doing as expected.

Hawkers was fine, my small plate / entree (?) was good and the rest of the table’s food looked good. The rest of the table shared food. The restaurant was very loud inside so it made a good-bye party a bit difficult. I even forgot to take a photo of the group and guest of honor… 🙄 A VERY NICE walk home on the BeltLine—it had cooled down and lots of folks were out enjoying the evening.

    • Sorry to hear you have to wait for Willow’s results.

What did you have to eat?

Good on ya for walking last night. With no real exercise to my credit I had three beers in total, because I couldn’t resist drinking a free beer during our German class mid-class break.

        MEE GORENG
egg noodles (substituted rice noodles), tofu, shrimp (omitted), eggs, spring onions, napa, bean sprouts, onions, carrots, potatoes, roasted peanuts, lime.
$8.50 for a small plate, but probably all one needs to eat :). Drank the least expensive wine, a $8 Malbec. We should check it out sometime… I saw some Sichuan items on the menu. Or maybe just go to the Tasty China at Ponce City Market 😂.

11-12 hours in the car ass enough, Spent the night in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Allan lived here for his middle school years.
Going to go find his old house this morning (maybe more for his mom than him).
    Cute town.
Only about 2 ish hours over to Princeton, NJ area today.
Spend the day & night with friends there.

We did have a quick stop at a Winery in N VA, got there at 5:40, they closed at 6. Just a way to stretch the legs & tasty a nice Rose.

    • As with all things you kids do everything more completely than me. 🙂 When I did my drive to Colorado in 2012(?), where the Jackmobile’s transmission crapped out, eight hours of driving was my limit.

      • Barb says:

Allan is a driving machine. He didn’t even sleep that much the night before. I kept offering to drive. He ignores me. (He’s a terrible passenger).
We are listening to a book on CD. It should be done by the time we get to Annette’s.

Nice little breakfast bar here, eggs, waffles, other usual offerings.
Time to get going, Annette & Mark are moving Saturday, so we will be drinking & helping pack. That should be fun!

I think 8 hours is about my limit as well. Since I do 99% of the driving, unless I am really whipped, that’s all I can stand.

Cut grass. Waited for the rain, which was spitting as I finished up. Debbie left for a ride about that time and I thought she was nuts, but the rain never materialized until after we went to bed.

I’m on horse duty tonight as Debbie heads for a quick trip to Albany this afternoon for a funeral. One of our fox hunting friends husband passed away after a long battle with cancer.

    Hopefully a ride…

  4. Thanks to the gift card for a free sandwich, and taking a drink from “XYZ Corp”, my lunch cost me $2.34 today. 😁
