We are in the two-day interstitial twixt Canada’s Independence Day and the United States’.
Last night’s trail did indeed go tunneling, under I-75. It was a long, dark, but clean and tall affair. We ended at a place called “Howell’s†which was too fancy for me.
Women’s World Cup game at 3pm, first German class at 6pm; not sure that I can do them both?
Tuesday Tale of the Tape: I forgot today was Tuesday and was already dressed by the time I realized that I was supposed to weigh in this morning. Oops. Tomorrow I will.
I was happy to see that I guessed right and that all of the yard waste that I put on the curb Saturday was picked up yesterday. Woo Hoo!
Wish I could watch the game but family duties…..
Barb, saw your comment from yesterday. Still trying to figure out what our day-o-fun will be. We were supposed to start it off with a bike ride to the doughnut shop but so far everyone is still asleep except for me and my sister… TBD.
Mmmmmm, doooooonuts….. Rattle some cages and get there! 🙂
Enjoy your day with the family.
C’mon, what could be better for you than a bike ride to donuts!!
They’re all still asleep! To be fair, they did drive all day from Oklahoma then we all stayed up until 1 AM.
Started planning the vacay for the end of the month. Flying to Boston and driving North so Debbie can check off the rest of New England. Already purchased tickets on the cog railway up Mt. Washington. Good hiking, lobster, more lobster. Acadia NP and Bah Haahbaa (Bar Harbor)… checked in with (occasional blog reader) Jenka about touring Fenway Park. She hears it’s worthwhile…
Cooked pork lion, little red potatoes and corn on the cob for dinner. Deeelish.

I really want to get up to those New England states some day.
sounds awesome.
We are going to PA at the end of July for the Nittany Valley 1600 hash – Allan never knew about hashing in college, so we are going to go check it out. and – I’ve never been to State College, so it should be a good time. We have to camp, so we will be digging out all the tent camping gear – hope it is still in good shape.
I went to State College for a Penn State game in the late 1990s with my buddies who went to college there. This was before I heard about hashing too.
Oh, I still read, I just tend to skip a week or two and have to catch up, by which time there’s no point in commenting.
Yes, Fenway is part of the history of Boston, the tour will be interesting even if you aren’t a fan. I’ve never done one myself but I have heard rave reviews from fans and non-fans alike. Your Maine trip sounds fun! It’s been about 20+ years since I’ve been to Acadia National Park.
Heading up to Boston at the end of July for the Red Sox/Yankees series. This will be a stealth trip so you shan’t see me post on social media.
A hash bar ending that’s too fancy? Interesting.
I tried to talk Allan into going to the hash, but he’d been outside all day, so he didn’t want to. We cooked a frozen pan of enchiladas in the new stove – it does cook faster than the old one – I need to pay attention until I get used to it.
I assume the new oven is also convection, and that’s why it cooks faster?
yes- I’m confused because I can cook convection & not convection? I really need to sign up for a class.
Or use Google: 😉

I learned some things reading that too, so thanks! 🙂
look at you – googling it! (thanks – I am reading it now)
Cabinet hardware……… damn its expensive.
that is all.
I hope I like what I picked, because it costs too much to change it out.
Decided I am too tired / worn out to sneak out for soccer match. Hoping that I am up for my inevitable struggle with returning to German class tonight.
Bucking up for the second half. At Publico since it’s relatively empty with many TVs.
