After a nonstop weekend of activity I am “relaxing†at the Waschsalon before heading into work.
No Moonlite for me tonight, I need a short break.

Much fun with Bonnie, including going to a concert at the Roxy last night where I ran into Miles (aka “Centipeterâ€) and longtime former ITP-Reader DDDave (who did not recognize me, lol).
Did not recognize you? I don’t know if that’s good or bad!
After almost 30 miles Friday and 30 miles yesterday, my legs feel it. And I’m slightly embarrassed. I guess I’m not in all that great a shape and it’s depressing. Time to start working harder.
Yesterday’s ride was a new one. Debbie had to work, so we went to breakfast and then to her office and I rode home. I had scoped it out on the scooter, so knew where I was going. It will be a nice ride in cooler weather. I didn’t start until after 10, so it was hot by the time I finished at 12:30. The “hot” tub had some relief for me. It’s been set to 80 for a while now (so the heat wouldn’t come on) but the pump was running to bring the temp down! It was 87, but felt great.
Yardwork and napping rounded out Fathers Day- and of course, a lovely meal cooked by my bride.
Barb, how’s the cabinet business?

Paulie and I took an impromptu bike ride to Stone Mountain this weekend, 35+ miles. It wiped me out! I could barely ride the last mile from his house to mine LOL. I probably didn’t eat enough or drink enough water—at least that’s what I’m telling myself, haha haha!
I stopped for a 5 minute break with about 5 miles to go. Just to get in some shade and off the bike. I felt like a complete slacker. I never seem to drink what I should, but I was trying to remember since it was pretty hot. I almost consumed a whole bottle.
what concert was at the Roxy last night?
The National, with Courtney Barnett as the opening act.
busy weekend –
spend all day Saturday “helping” install cabinets -that meant basically staying out fo the way most of the time. All the boxes are in, except 1, that the stain color looked significantly darker than the cabinet it was next to. Hopefully a little sanding will fix it. We hope to get the stove installed this week – and the shelves, drawers & doors should be ready later this week.
I have to get on countertop shopping – just need to get something picked out.
Allan started working on the lighting & electrical Sunday morning- can’t wait to have some lights in that room again.
Went to brunch with TJ & Mary for Fathers Day.
Then – we went to our cabinet maker’s pool mid afternoon to finally get to relax.
Get a sample of the cabinet wood and put the finish on it, then go countertop shopping. That would be my suggestion.
We have a sample – I just wanted to see what the ceiling & cabinets looked like in the room before I decided on darker or lighter for the countertop.
Forgot to mention that on Saturday’s bike ride we ran into Phil (“Screams Like a Girlâ€) and Georgia (“I da Hoâ€) on the ride back from Stone Mountain.
Barb, I forgot to ask if yo went to the iron pour. And now I read that Elliott Street Pub is up for sale. 😢
we went – but they don’t even start pouring until after dark, and JoAnna & I got bored, so we missed the actual pour. Great dive bar, talked to some people about what all was going to happen, etc.
Yes- its up for sale for 3.3 million.
Nice property location – good for the owners to cash in.
Allan (and his guys) & their fire engine were at the shop, so we didn’t even get to say hi to him.
We had one of our investors come and talk at “XYZ Corp†today. He’s in his early-50s, has a Computer Science degree from the University of Florida, and joined an Atlanta startup in the late-1990s. Hmmm, that sounds sooooo familiar,..
One of us made out better than the other… 🤔
I’m not complaining, I just find it interesting.
An investor… like with his own money or “Daddy’s Money”? I guess, since I’ve always made just enough, I don’t know how people get in the position to become an investor. Guess the techies could have made out well if their company got bought.
Hopefully, you introduced yourself as a Florida grad…
His money. The company he was with was veeeery successful apparently (I’d not heard of until today).
No, I did not introduce myself.
our new stove should be delivered & installed tomorrow!!!!
Nice!
You need to go to the class!!! What a hoot that would be.
I need to find time to schedule that.
I really need to do that.
