2018-12-21

Like many of the “XYZ Corp” family today is the last day of 2018 that will see me in the office. Huzzah! However, I’ll still be around.

Happy Winter Solstice! That’s the best I can do because Christmas has not infected me this year.

I might finally be in a little Christmas spirit. I think all the shopping is done- well almost. The last bit of present will be gotten today as they were already closed yesterday when I went by.

We made chicken piccata last night from Home Chef. It was quite good and really simple- almost like schnitzel! We can easily reproduce it.

I rolled past the backed up traffic on 285 due to the closure at Riverdale Rd. Wow. The radio said it had been closed at 04:30… it was 06:00 and still closed. Traffic was likely back to 20.

This place is a ghost town.

I’m totally not in a Christmasy mood as well.
    What are everyone’s plans?
Saturday Allan works – I will go to the hash – I told Breaststroke I’d transport the Reindeer Piss for her, she’s co-haring (stand-in for Rats Ass) & needs it to arrive warm.
Sunday – who knows, but we are meeting up with Material Girl who moved away many years ago & is home visiting the parents.
Monday – Christmas Eve – Allan works (I don’t)- I need to figure out what to do.
Tuesday – Christmas Day – Allan works again – I know I’ll go to his firehouse for dinner at some point.

    • Shakespeare Tavern Saturday night, thus no hashing that day for me
BH3 on Sunday (also starts at Sage Hill 😮)
      No plans for Monday
Hanging with my friends Hank and Jun on Christmas, not sure where yet
Drinksmas returns at Betsy’s on Wednesday

I’m free for lunch Thursday or Friday next week if anyone is in the mood one day,

Barb if you feel like an late lunch on Christmas Eve, let me know. Perhaps Tasty China (or Big Chicken! *grin*)? I’m working that day so I’ll be out and about anyway and am happy to drive up to your neck o’ the woods instead of making you come down here. I’m guessing I’ll only work until about 2pm or so.

I have a plastic mug of Breaststroke’s that was left after the Pridelake Hash. I wonder if there’s a way I can get it to you?

      • Barb says:

        Stacy –
Hash starts tomorrow at Sage Hill.
Let’s definitely talk about Christmas Eve.
(and – don’t forget Culvers on our tour of Cobb county eating establishments)
You can always stay over night at my house too.

“I’m in the mood for… lunch, simply because you’re near me!” A little different than the original.

Off Monday, off Tuesday, off Wednesday (Boxing Day hunt!), work Thursday, off Friday (maybe).

Christmas with my sister afternoon of the 25th. Debbie’s fam next weekend.

  4. ITP Lurker says:

It’s unlikely I can make Thursday work. In the spring I want to arrange a downtown lunch if anyone is game. I haven’t had lunch on Broad Street in a coons age. To be clear, that means a coon that hasn’t strayed into Barb’s yard. 😉

    • Barb says:

speaking of coons – we do need to set the trap again, its been a while………..

and – once you get it planned – maybe I’ll have a “doctor apt” that day.

      • ITP Lurker says:

I’m sure you’ll be able to come down with something that needs a professional (or non-professional in the case of this blog) opinion that day. 😃

If I had known it was this nasty out, I would have saved my errand for later, but here I am out in the rain.

Broad St. lunch sounds good, but I might hit Rosa’s Pizza!

  6. Barb says:

The boss in Chicago decided to buy us pizza for lunch today – Liberty Pizza, a little local place by MicroCenter down the road -very tasty.

You know I live on a dead end road and our power hardly EVER goes out. I don’t know what the deal is there. Very odd- you should be fed from 2 different circuits.
