Packing up for my semi-annual trip to Black Mountain, NC for the Lake Eden Arts Festival, aka “LEAF”. The winner of this year’s “Most Unfortunately-Named Performer” is “Mitch McConnell”, who I am assume is not this Mitch McConnell. 😉

Have a great weekend all.

Steve, if you are reading this space today, just wanted to tell you that I am thinking about clearing the skedge tomorrow and heading to the Games. One of my good friends is a MacAlpine and they’re having a Clan MacAlpine dinner at the Burns club tonight and then a to-do at the Games tomorrow. I didn’t want to tell him that I have a county named after me.

    Oh, hi Paulie! 🙂

Did my comment get lost in the ether?

It did. Here it goes again!

Steve, if you’re reading this space, I am considering clearing the skedge tomorrow and going to the Games. I always want to go but there are always things going on that prevent it. My friend is a MacAlpine and they’re having a Clan MacAlpine dinner at the Burns Club tonight and then a to-do at the Games tomorrow. I don’t want to tell him that I have a county named after me.

    Oh, hi Paulie! 🙂

  4. Jenka says:

    Okay, I’ve tried twice. Doomed!

    • barb says:

hi Jenka!!!! Do you have a link or something in the comment? we’ve all learned that Paulie has to push those thru – so they can get delayed.

      • Jenka says:

Nope! Just a regular comment about how I’m probably going to the Games tomorrow. Apparently WordPress doesn’t like Scottish people!

Clean bill of health on my annual physical today. I have a concierge doctor who gives me a special body scan once a year. Apparently I’ve gained almost 11 pounds of muscle over the past year, which blew her away. She doesn’t see that much in 53 year olds. This reinforces my thinking that the scale doesn’t tell the whole story. My weight is 215, which is up from last year, but I weigh more because I’m stronger.

Clearly buying a new bike a few months ago has been one of the best investments in myself that I’ve ever made.

I hope LEAF meets your expectations, Paulie. I have a friend who’s told me for years I should go. Maybe someday.

I have many bikes, that I tend to not ride very often -I really need to change that.
      Great job on gaining muscle!
I’ve been too lazy for too long – again – I need to change that.

      • ITP Lurker says:

Thanks, Bob! I’ve known how good riding my bike is for my brain, so it’s nice to also have quantified evidence of how good it is for my body as well. It is definitely gratifying to power up hills now that used to kick my ass.

  6. Sorry, you were stuck in moderation… I was trying to be good and not use phone while driving. Stopped for gas in SC now.

  7. Thought I could get meat-free pizza at QT in SC. Wrong! It’s now a meat day because I’m too hungry to care.

  8. Okay, back to driving- talk amongst yourselves. 🙂

By the way, the fry bread with pepperoni butter was mind-blowing at Banshee last night in EAV (https://www.banshee-atl.com/). The butternut squash ravioli stood out as well. They’ve hit the ground running, service was spot on, food is fairly priced. I highly recommend it.

They do offer off-menu vegetarian options.

    • Bonnie says:

I peeked inside recently and looked at the menu (but didn’t inquire about off-menu items). I’m sure the pricing is fair, but still on the high side for me. And overall a bit too fancy. Maybe I’ll have a drink there sometime. The bar area looked cool. Admittedly I’m just more of a Midway type of gal so I guess I’m being a bit prejudiced.

      • ITP Lurker says:

I love the EARL, but something about Midway doesn’t work for me. In any case, everyone’s mileage varies. I do know that I had a splendid time both at the bar, and at the table.
