Up until late yesterday afternoon the Lake Hartwell weekend was incredible for me.
While floating in the lake yesterday my left ear became clogged and even with repeated attempts to clear it I have been unsuccessful. I still can’t hear anything through my left ear.
I’m starting my month at my doctor’s office.
WHAT? (Sorry.)
Nothing huge this weekend. A dinner party Friday evening which we weren’t expecting (“come over for a drink”). Hunting in Alabama Saturday- 4 hour trail ride, according to Debbie. Work Sunday which took entirely too long, considering what we were doing. Oh well.
And it’s going to still be hot this week? I’m going to write a letter!!!

Yeah, I bought some sort of ear wax cleaning solution at Kroger yesterday and was hoping that it would clear itself up overnight but it hasn’t.
Swimmers ear, Travis gets it all the time. There are OTC drops you can put in that should clear it right up.
Pretty good weekend in the burbs, played a really good tennis match on Saturday (but unfortunately lost) then on Sunday had a good ride then met up at a neighbors house for a brewing party. We had 4 batches of beer going at the same time. The November tailgate party/home brew contest is going to be a good one!

OMG that is the biggest, nastiest glob of junk they removed from my ear. The cleaning hurt, but at least I can hear again!
well – at least your ear is cleaned out.
did they do the other ear while you were there?
No. Even though it was painful it would have been good to start with even ears.
I remember getting that done as a kid once and this big ol’ plug of wax or whatever coming out and being all: whaaaa? I routinely use hydrogen peroxide now to clean mine. It’s so satisfying hearing the gunk in there “crackle” like it’s being eaten away (a tip: do this before the shower so you can then rinse them out after). Of course, I imagine your doc probably gave you other suggestions for the future?
Funny image though: I keep imagining the scene in Shrek where he pulls out this ear wax to use as candles. 😉 https://imgur.com/gallery/Ihi6mQ7
No real advice though she mentioned drops for putting the into my ears to keep the wax at bay.
They used a combination of warm water with hydrogen peroxide, powered sprayed in using a syringe with a plastic, bendable “needleâ€.
Years ago I had my ears cleaned out after some sort of incident. I remember being able to hear my hand grip the steering wheel!!! I also remember having to put cotton in my ears at work because of the noise from the air handlers. Wish I had a tiny bit of that hearing now!!
Celebrating my rediscovered hearing by eavesdropping on a conversation at the table next to me at Majestic Diner.
Hartwell was fun, I never got into the water – just kept busy doing whatever.
Yesterday was wasted day, made a wrong turn leaving the house, ended up in the town of Hartwell, only about 15 minutes out of hte way, but it still annoyed me. Allan slept until 1pm (long Saturday night at the firehouse) watched some Football, Falcons lost in the last seconds, Browns lost in overtime, not sure what happened to the Jets.
Jets were crushed by the Jaguars.
Barb, we never got in the water until around 1 or 1:30 when there were only six other people left at the campout and the sun finally came out and it seemed like a good thing to do to avoid going home and doing chores LOL. The other swimmers were making fun of Paulie and I because our floats unintentionally matched our respective bathing suits (hey, I can’t control what colors were left on the clearance rack!). Plus, this is the second campout I’d dragged these unused floats to so it was time to use them 😂. I had an awesome weekend at the campout overall except for a bit of a sunburn from yesterday’s spontaneous laking and my legs and knee are really sore I assume from slogging through suction-y muck.
The mud on the hash was almost as deep and sticky as the bullshit that was slung around camp all weekend. 😂😂🤣
Also, surprise surprise I got sunburned as well because I was negligent.
get a swim shirt – best invention ever. Allan never gets burned anymore.
Thankfully I was wearing one! My burn is on my face, neck, and on the parts of my legs that rarely get exposed to direct sunlight.
Just realized that my morning medical trip helped me forget to post my September stats. I know that no one really cares, but I will post them tomorrow.
Listening to music — in stereo — glorious!
