Woman on the elevator this morning complimented me on my manners, and then praised my mother for raising my right. 😇

Okay, I have to ask what you did. So….er, what’d you do? 🙂
Simple chivalry – I allowed her to enter the elevator first while I put my hand against the door so that it wouldn’t prematurely close. That’s it really. I guess it doesn’t take much these days.
It’s totally noticed, though. I have to deal with two sets of elevators every day and it’s amazing those who don’t have any elevator etiquette. So I really notice and appreciate folks who do.
That’s SOP around here. And maybe because we have such longevity.
Reading a website about my Bundesliga team – Werder Bremen – it mentions three fan clubs in the US — Kansas City (MO), Atlanta (GA), and Rumson (NJ). Barb, I can’t wait for Rumson to finally win an InterAmericas Hash bid so I can hang with my soccer compatriots. 😂 Seriously, I should see if Goethe is where the Werder Bremen club gets together.
Someday I’ll just go to Rumson to hash – I told Cheese Spread we need to do a trip for one of their events.
My biggest gripe about elevator behavior is when people get in and mash the button right away when they know people are right behind them. Our elevator doors close so quickly! Don’t do that. Get on, let the last person on push the buttons. That way it doesn’t close on anyone.
Mine is when people rush into the elevator without even looking to see if anybody is getting off. See also: subway trains.
I hate that too, major pet peeve! I am drilling it in to Travis that you have to wait for people to get off before you get on. That and common courtesy, you are not the only person on this planet so be nice to others.
wait – I’m not the only person on this planet????
Dragging this morning after a late Games meeting… a tough turnaround- home by 10:30, in bed by 11, up before 5, in the office by 6:30.
Debbie not feeling good. While in Savannah, one of her coworkers had the crud and passed it along.
Ben King won the stage yesterday. The break stayed away from what was left of the field and finished 3:45 ahead. A little less lumpy today.

On a walk to the Amazon store on Fifth street to pick up some stuff I bought recently. Trying to avoid as much sun as possible so that I don’t sweat too much. If not for a want of exercise I would learn how to ride one of those Bird scooters…
Amazon store doesn’t open until 9am, stopping off in Barnes & Nobles to cool down.
Stealing from Stacy’s Instagram: if you want a little silly fun this morning Google “avocado cartoon†and look at the images returned.
We had the in-laws over for dinner – since they’d be in Colorado for about a month, lots to catch up on.
We cooked a roast in the crockpot with pepperoncini’s – that make for some good tasty gravy.
Steve – TJ didn’t bring me any T-shirts from the races – so no new shirts for you either.
Damnit. I hope Mary had a good time. I’m pretty sure TJ did- at least he was smiling in most of the pictures I saw.
Mary’s 2 sisters live out there in CO – she had a blast.
I can confirm Paulie’s good elevator manners. 😊
Purchases picked up; back at the office; sweating has started; believe sandpaper-quality toilet paper should be outlawed.
I thought about wearing a “workout†shirt for my walk, but hoped I wouldn’t sweat too much. I was only kidding myself, my shirt is drenched.
I other news: seeing a root canal specialist next Tuesday, and am going to try and schedule a colonoscopy today. Oh boy!
You are on a roll!!!!!
You will need a driver afterwards…
For the colonoscopy, yes.
For the root canal evaluation, no; though if I need a root canal I probably will.
Nah, unless they have to completely sedate you.
Lunch plan for those riding in Ham’s Honda Element tomorrow is to meet at the corner of 11th Street and Crescent Avenue at 11:00am.
I’ll be the dude in the Grenada T-shirt.
see y’all about 1130 – or maybe even 1120?
(no breakfast for me tomorrow………_)
Sounds like a plan 11:00am Crescent at 11th, Steve, Bonnie, Paulie.
See eddybody at OK Cafe by 11:30am.
I’ll be really easy to spot:
– 5’10”, 210 pounds
– Dark hair, fashionably cropped
– glasses (Warby Parker, natch)
– Hip t-shirt, jeans
– Cons
– Hasher swager

Disclaimer: OK Cafe no longer leaves Tootsie Rolls on the table with your check. However, there is a self-serve bowl as you enter (and around at Take-Out.)
See you Thursday,

you know I like that Take-Out entrance anyway – Tootsie Rolls are the bomb!
