Saturday, installed small stage for “puppy show” at Bear Creek, prepared for silent auction, removed stage, partied with dinner and live band after puppy show.
Sunday, drove to BFE Cuming for Eagle Court of Honor. Managed to get through speaking roles without crying (initial read of script had me bawling). Drove home and collapsed.
Saw not one second of March Madness, but did look up what UMBC stood for! Shame they didn’t make the sweet 16.
I played “Uncle Paulie†Friday, Saturday, and then Sunday morning before going out to Black Sheep yesterday. “Just Bonnie†was named yesterday — welcome to the hash world, “Glory Moleâ€! (I will leave it to your imagination to guess the genesis of the name)
Were you an Eagle Scout, Steve? I never joined, so I don’t understand the pomp and circumstance.
I was not. I let my smart mouth and my ignorance get me kicked out of scouts. If I had it to do over again, I would have certainly continued. I was greatly pleased and not a little bit surprised he made it. After meeting his scoutmaster, I can see why the troop had quite a few Eagles.
Survived skiing, but it was awesome. Very groomed slopes due to not enough real snowfall this year, but it was nice.
Both Beaver Creek & Vail were excellent, I can’t really say I liked 1 better than the other.
No lines for the most part, so I was exhausted by the end of each day.
It finally snowed a little last night, Vail says 5 inches of fresh powder, Beaver Creek 7 inches. Wish we could ski today, but the bank account wouldn’t like that. For those wondering, with no discounts, it’s $199 to ski, and between $50-$100 to rent eqpt. Not a sport for the poor. Smartest way to go is be here long enough to get a multi day discount pass, but that’s still really pricy.
Flight home leaves at 1pm, we arrive at 6ish. It’s a plane that comes from Atlanta, si once it departs, I know ours will be on time to get home.
Now having my own equipment has made life easier. I’m pretty sure Vail/BC are at the high end of the price range, but I know our favorite- Deer Valley in Park City- isn’t far behind.
You just don’t know these days until “wheels up”. Getting on the plane use to be the demarcation point, but no more. Hope all goes well for your return.
Back to work to get some rest.

With UF’s loss my March Madness ended Saturday.

Allan is an Eagle Sco7t. I’m sure that surprises no one.
We made a list of hasher once that were Eagle Scouts, it was a very interesting group.
I bet that was an… interesting list.

Owning your eqpt is good, but with the changes in everything, I’d be afraid my skis would outdated before I got my money’s worth.
Safe travels home, Barb — and pack your patience. They’re saying wicked thunderstorms this afternoon/evening… like, possibly tornado-causing ones. 😮
Yep, flight still says on time….. but, will we depart?

Hold on tight, it may be a bumpy ride in to ATL!
Yep, good thing I have no fear of flying!
Flight from ATL is 10 minutes late coming in, we are delayed 20 minutes to leave.
Everything appears to be tracking north, so you may be in the clear.
