Really good weekend, capped it off by sleeping way too much last night.
For a while I hoped my adopted Bundesliga team could hang with the league’s best yesterday. They were tied 1-1 at halftime, only to lose 4-2 (their second goal was an own goal scored by the other team), so it was little more than misplaced optimism.
Saturday did the Atlanta hash – down in East Point -about 5 miles, it was a fun trail – enough shiggy, but not too much.
Sunday was Wheelhopper up in Alpharetta – Jack@ss, Slippery & I did the short trail – still 11.5 miles – good weather, good crowd, good times.
Allan had to work the Lion King last night, so we had to leave before down downs.
I sort of watched football, but didn’t care at all who won, so cleaned out my DVR instead.
I think I rode between 15-20 on the roads with the mountain bike yesterday. That combined with three beers and a late lunch / early dinner is what did me in.
my butt is telling me I haven’t been on a bike in quite a while……..
My legs are telling me that I am not riding enough.
A big dizzy spell yesterday after pushing too hard up a long hill told me I haven’t been riding enough. So much for my best laid plans to seek out the Westside Beltline trail. I lost my head in the good weather. Having a kid on the tandem attachment didn’t help.
When I arrived home Friday, there was no hot water to be had. I called my plumber and left a message, but realized if I could get the old HWH out, the new one would be a snap to install (HA!). I cleverly figured out I could drain the tank via the outside hose connection, which worked, but I was premature in thinking the tank was empty and had to vacuum out the balance, and still there was water inside. The new tank went in pretty easy after the new cutoff valve was finally working correctly (operator error).
And my cold appears to be on the downswing!! After spending the night in the recliner my head is much clearer.

I couldn’t imagine going all weekend without hot water, and since the tank was already leaking, with no shutoff, I shut the whole house down.
sounds like a fun weekend Steve – glad it all worked out!
