Starting to think about traveling in 2018. I have so many desires that I might have to take another hiatus from working.

    Ragbrai is on the radar………….

Just spent about 30 minutes (mostly on hold) with my health insurance company – I got a bill from a lab from back in April. After looking into it & them calling the lab, they didn’t cover a prostate test line item. Like I need that test? its supposed to go away…….. we will see if I get another bill.

Looks like Thanksgiving will be slightly smaller this year – maybe 16 or so.
That doesn’t bother me at all.
I stopped by WalMart yesterday to find tablecloths, and they were on clearance. Really, 2 days before Thanksgiving? but Hey – at $2 each, what a deal. I splurged & got the holiday paper plates & napkins too.

Stacy- if you are reading this – no coloring tablecloths this year……….. I have no idea where Mary found those.

    • So no masterpieces such as this…

I’m still not sure I’ll be able to make it, Barb (why I switched to a maybe). I have to work early Friday so I need to be home at a decent time. I was going to come to your place first, but since you said you didn’t know when y’all would actually be eating, I’m headed to the other place (that starts at noon) first. The plan is to hopefully come over to yours after though. They’re right in Marietta too.

        I’ll say food at 5pm.
we are a 3pm gather – and if everyone is on time…….. we could even eat earlier.
Bummer you have to work Friday.
I think we may have too many desserts – so you better show up!

        • Stacy says:

I will aim for that 4pm sweet spot. I’m planning to only eat little bits with them so I can eat again for real with y’all. Not much of dessert person, but thanks for the tip not to bring another. I’m trying to figure out what to bring that can sit in the car for a while.

We are almost ready for the invasion. Turkey lurkey is cooling his heels in the beer fridge in the man cave, the house is getting closer to presentable, there is still grass to cut and a driveway to blow, but that’s this afternoons’ chores after we get out of the orafice.

As the deck was open for all today and Friday, I drove in- it may actually take me longer that normal on MARTA this afternoon if downtown isn’t cleared out. We’ll see.

I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow. We all have a lot to be thankful for. I’m thankful to call you all friends and that we get to hang out here on a semi-regular basis. Thanks, Paulie.

    So far:
    – basement/dungeon “straightened”
    – vacuumed all over
    – spider webs removed from 2nd floor windows
    – front yard leaves blown/bagged
    – unsightly leaf bags hidden
    – back patio blown-off
    – bird feeder filled
    – squirrel-flipper deal charged

    Left to do:
    – get ice
    – move unsightly web camera (backyard security) from LR

We are expecting 23 for 6:30pm dinner.
    Weeeeee….

BTW: Many Black Friday tech deals at Fry’s.
    Example: Samsung 512GB (850 Evo) SSD….$118. Woof.

Oh, and for the second year in a row, REI (530xxx) is dead to me.
“Get Outside…” my *ss. REI is a retail outlet.
So open Friday and sell stuff already.

Same deal on Saturday they would have had on Friday. I think it’s kind of nice- of course, it’s also a publicity stunt.

    • Barb says:

I LOVE that REI is closed on Friday.
I’ve never shopped on Black Friday, unless it was a grocery store.
REI never has and “real” sales as far as I can tell, their stuff is good, but pricy.
their customers don’t need Black Friday.

We’ve got 16-18 it is looking like. Dinner in the garage!
