Busy Tuesday

In addition to my normal(ish) Tuesday routine of work and then German class I have added “eating breakfast out”, which was accomplished by going to the new Caribou/Einstein’s on 14th Street, and “tour Mercedes Benz Dome”, which I will be doing later today.

Busy.
Busy.

It might of helped if I had accomplished half of the tasks on my To Do list last night. I did finish reading “Beartown” however and will be ready to discuss the book when I make it up to LEAF on Friday.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

    “tour Mercedes Benz Dome…”

    • The Urban Explorers of Atlanta are touring the new dome today. I am flexing my work flexibilty at “XYZ Corp” to join them. I’ll toot down there on MARTA, do the tour, eat lunch with the group (depending on what time that starts), and then shoot back up Peachtree on MARTA again.

Truthfully today not the best day for me to be doing this, but I’ve paid a non-refundable fee for a ticket, the weather is awesome, and I will enjoy another distraction from my day-to-day.

Not sure if you’re aware of this new breakfast option: https://whatnowatlanta.com/muchacho-now-open-reynoldstown/

    • I read that Muchacho opened yesterday, but I didn’t realize that they were open for breakfast. Cool. I will try it some time, and suppress my desire to remind them that they shouldn’t have painted that lovely brick building.

Forgot to mention the awesome burger that I ate at The Brass Tap after doing a little Krogering for LEAF yesterday afternoon.

I’ve been avoiding The Brass Tap because of the blinding number of TVs they appear to have, but good to know on the burger.

Last night’s fun & games in Grant Park was a fresh round of let’s bust some car windows. I apparently drew the baby burglar, because I only have minor screwdriver damage. I should inquire about window replacement loyalty cards though. In 14 years 3 busted windows and one stolen catalytic converter. Life in the city.

        • A lot of TVs, surprising none of which had audio or closed-captioning turned on. Weird (to me). They have appetizer specials for “Happy Hour” (4-7) and a daily food special — yesterday’s was burger and pint for $13.

Yes, I know The Brass Tap is a chain, hell I went to the one near Perimeter Mall too, and I’m okay with visiting occasionally.

FYI, Joe (Harlan, AKA “Pops”) daughter Sarah works at Mucacho…

  3. I have the worst team in a six-team fantasy football league. The sad thing is that I am trying to win.

  4. HamWithCam (aka John), do you know how Pops (aka Joe) used to calculate when the sun set behind downtown when viewed from Stone Mountain? Thanks.

Live from Stone Mountain Park is day five I think of the setup. So far going very well, we appear to be ahead of schedule and nobody’s been injured which is always a plus. The weather for the weekend looks great and it has cooled off enough to be comfortable in a kilt.

    Hope to see many!

And I want a tour of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. But I’m sure I want the one that goes behind the scenes and not so much of just on the playing surface.

This is the one then Steve. We went around the stadium, in the locker room, and in the field, amongst other places.

  6. Gorgeous day out so I abused my lot in life by walking from MB Dome back to “XYZ Corp”. I didn’t track the distance but GMap Pedometer claims 2.7 miles.

Breakfast idea for you. Urban Cannibals just re-opened in Midtown. 5th Street, between Argonne and Charles Allen — aka, literally a 4 minute walk from the Wash Salon. 🙂 Confirmed with them via Twitter today they’re open every weekday from 7-10am for breakfast. Seems like an ideal place to kill two birds with one stone?
