Hi!
Dinner last night was “meh”. We dined at No. 246, and because I am trying to eat less I restrained myself. Dessert was at the Irish pub in Decatur Square (Mac McGee’s?), but by the time we were headed that way it was already 10pm and again, I’m trying to limit my caloric intake, so I went home instead.
Tonight I am going to the Tabernacle for the Trombone Shorty concert. Admittedly Tabernacle is not my favorite music venue, but I want to see Trombone Shorty and his band again, so I’ll have to deal with going there.
Bye!

And now my work computer is going to take a critical update and reboot, so I have a minute.
Last night’s mystery dinner in Decatur started with me spending time in the library, still trying to learn Swift. I swear, I will be struggling with Swift long after this blog dies.
Our meetup point for the evening was SOS Tiki Bar where I had one beer, a Creature Comforts Tropicalia. There were fourteen of us last night, after apparently eight dropped out in the days leading up to the event. Unfortunately the people with whom I have been becoming friendly were not in attendance.
The group of us migrated to No. 246, whose menu looked okay but pricy, where I ate a Caesar salad, and one big meatball. With dinner I drank water.
I considered going to Mac McGee’s for dessert, which apparently serves decent dessert, but was more interested in going home at 10pm.
I love Mac McGee, especially when the “snug” by the bar is available. It’s perfect for the socially anxious. 😉 We had whisky ice cream there once that was so good we ordered seconds. Their menu changes often though.
No. 246 is owned by the chef Ford Fry, and he’s particularly proud of the food at all of his establishments and charges accordingly. Whatever the market will bear, I guess. I’ve always left unimpressed from the places I’ve tried.
You are correct. My mediocre Caesar salad was $11, the single meatball, while large, was $5.50.
Last night managed a short hike at Kennesaw, didn’t get started until 6:30 and it gets starts getting dark by 7:40. At least I moved a little last night.
Allan was at the Atlanta United game, couldn’t talk the Delta 360 club into letting him in, so he had to buy his dinner (so, the uniform won’t let him go anywhere, after all).
Tonight – 2nd spin class of the week – I’m trying to get some exercise, really.
then to Roswell (or wherever the ramble is) to give some Chattahooligan bike jerseys to the people who paid for them.
Well, at least the food at MB Dome isn’t ridiculously priced, or so I hear.
You are doing better at exercising than I am. Keep up the good work!
Got home last night and picked up Ollie to meet Debbie at Johnny’s for dinner. She had been at the “pistol packing mama” class put on by Coweta Co. Sherriff Dept. and was then going to dog training class. I was just Ollie’s Uber.
The pro’s raced the time trial at Worlds yesterday. For some reason, the course finished with a 10% climb! A very unusual course to say the least. A lot of riders were switching from the TT bike to the road bike at the base of the climb. Very odd.
The Wilson is Saturday… we used to think about riding once upon a time!!

Had the ITT on at work yesterday, it was weird watching some of them ride onto a red carpet to swap bikes.
I rode the Wilson two years ago (?). Obviously since my fall in April this year has been a complete cycling washout for me. Even if I had been riding as I intended all year I’d probably be skipping the Wilson this year since it falls on the same day as the East Atlanta Strut.
I’m not sure the purpose of the red carpet area- I understood the red carpet was there to keep riders from falling in their cleats on the cobbles, but I can’t think of a reason you can’t swap bikes anywhere. There was also the issue of team cars not following beyond that point, so maybe it was a combination of the two.
I saw Allan on the jumbo-tron at the game last night as the players were coming out. I was too slow to get a photo though. He came by the seats to say hey later on, good to catch up a bit.
Going to a Cyber War games thing today at Sun Trust park. We get a tour of the park, play cyber attack games then hang out in a suite for the game tonight. I’m only OK with seeing the braves because they are not getting any of my money and will be in a suite 🙂 I’m sure I will leave by the 5th inning or so.
Paulie, I need to introduce you to the little Mexican place on 6th St. And it was Tamale Thursday!! Muy Bueno.
Sounds good to me.
