It looks as if Hurricane Matthew is starting to form as predicted. Call me a skeptic but so many weather predictions are incorrect that I am reticent to believe that the sky is falling until I see something in the form of radar images. I’m hoping that the weather forecasters are also right in predicting that the storm will run up the east coast by this weekend as I have plans to head to the west coast of Florida on Sunday. Yep, that’s right, I will be hitting the road again…
I Did Manage A Nice Lunch
Yesterday was a virtual wash for yours truly. While not feeling entirely crummy I did manage to devote most of my day to resting, whether completely zonked out or merely laid down with my eyes closed somewhere.
I had the opportunity to leave the house for a little while and go out for lunch. With the weather being spectacular lunch was consumed outside, at a park bench. I stopped off at a Moe’s and picked up a huge burrito and some chips and guacamole; sometimes I really like to eat when I am not feeling well. If not for a handful of yellow jackets who also wanted to participate, the lunch was wonderful.

Projects A, B, And C
I have to keep reminding myself of three extremely important things:
- My company-supported health insurance runs out at the end of this month so I absolutely have to have a plan in place for replacing it by November.
- I need to spend more time each day writing software so that I have the ability to interview well and get another job when the time arrives.
- I need to pay attention to my finances more closely, including my retirement — especially since I will be funding my own post-career life with only what I can save for that time.
It sucks being an adult sometimes…
Trying To Turn It All Around
Although yesterday definitely didn’t go as I hoped today I expect to be back in the game. Of course I am writing this blog from bed, still a little out of things, and can see myself returning to sleep once I am done.
My goal is to be completely better by this afternoon so that I can enjoy tonight’s “Blues for Justice” concert featuring The Breeze Kings at Eddie’s Attic.
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
follow up with Megan at Wahoo, she asked for your email, they may have an opening?
i think this storm will be bad.
Working from home yesterday was fairly productive (not always the case) and I wrapped it up and headed to a follow up with the urologist. I was already aware he was called away on emergency surgery and told the office that I would come in and give my “lab work” and the doc and I could chat after he and the lab work return. After peeing in the cup, I left and as I drove home my phone rang, One of the nurses was calling- he knew why I had stopped in, but was confused as to the urine sample, as your PSA is checked in the blood! Turned around and tried it again! He said it wasn’t the first time. I know I’ve always given both samples in the past. I wonder what they were doing with the urine previously?
Went to Mexican last night, where our favorite waitress wanted to get me a margarita. When I declined, saying I had a cold, she left and came back after a few minutes with a coffee cup about a quarter full of something. She said to drink it all and it would help my cold. Mostly lemon juice, honey and tequilla, it went down pretty well, but I still have my cold today. Might need more tequilla next time.

I have followed up with Megan, more follow up to occur today. Thanks for giving her my email address.
Hope you feel better soon Steve. Not having to report to anyone I am using the sleep it off approach.
