It’s Gonna Get Hot In Here

As I do on many a last Friday I am starting my morning off with Creative Mornings again. I need to take advantage of these opportunities while I still have a semi-flexible schedule.

This morning’s Creative Mornings Atlanta is being held at Armor Yards, a series of refurbished construction near Sweetwater Brewery. We are in an empty space, which does not appear to have functioning A/C. When this space I s filled with a couple of hundred event goers and the sun rises higher above the horizon, it is liable to get quite hot.

I have already untucked my shirt as I feel sweat starting to build. Sweat has been an unfortunate theme of this week, hasn’t it?

A Relatively Boring Evening
I fought traffic down to Ansley Mall and arrived with ample time befor my scheduled haircut. After I was made as good looking as I get I decided to treat myself to dinner.

My first stop was DBA Barbecue which, to my dismay had a wait. When I ear alone I do not wait in line….

Next stop was back in the EAV where I once again dined at Tomatillos. No line, no wait, delicious-to-me food.

By the time I was done eating and home again it was 9:00pm.

I spent the rest of the night watching some tv, and talking on the phone with my mother.

Up And At’em!
I was awake this morning to start preparing for today’s journey up to Hartwell. Prior to coming to Creative Mornings I stopped into Kroger and picked up some “necessities” for the weekend.

I am really looking forward to this weekend of riding. It’s almost comical that I plan to do almost as much riding on Saturday and Sunday as I will from Mainz to Cologne in a few weeks.

ITP-Reader Barb, let me know when you are nearing the YMCA.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend friends!

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

I attempted to get ready for Hartwell last night – got most everything done.
Allan will finish up when he gets out of Hyox – we will meet up for lunch & he will drop me back off here at work, so he can pick me up after work.
Half the office is not here – and 1 that was supposed to be, decided he wasn’t feeling well – so he left. I call bullshit on that illness.
So – now I know I won’t be able to leave early.

I also went to yoga last night. I feel I was fairly prodcutive with my evening.

Speaking of hot, I got home last night and the house was hot as hell
    AC not working, crap!
Was about to call for repair and thought I would go look and see if it was anything obvious.
I was cleaning up some weeds last weekend and cut what I thought was an old phone cable.
Turns out it was the controller for the AC unit
    doh!
Wire strippers and electrical tape is much cheaper than a service call and now AC is back to normal.

And you guys have fun up at Hartwell! I would love to join you but too many obligations this weekend.

  4. Steve says:

Have a safe and fun trip to Hartwell.

After borrowing $20 from my work brother Sam, I went and got gas for the mower and cut the Ben Hilton. My sister came over and we went through the house where they are (very slowly) refinishing the floors. Dad did them 35 years ago, but the finish yellowed and needed to go.

The yard looks good- well the grass looks good, all the beds have gone to seed/weed/poison ivy, but Carol says she will be getting her grandchild labor cracking on cleaning them up. Then hopefully, HOPEFULLY, the house can get on the market.

The boss is off, Sam is working from home, and if I can find a usable feed for the Giro, today’s stage is supposed to be tough, so I need to watch.

Just saw a replay of the race leader going ass over teacups as he brushed a snowbank on a decent. Got right back up…

  6. Barb says:

Damn Bob………… and – Good job!!!

It is looking like Sal & Marty may come to Hartwell – with the dog??? She can’t find a place to board him. I’m not quite sure how that’s going to work.
Should make things even more interesting.

Hope I see that video clip from the Giro Steve……..

Just finished up at Creative Mornings, and Performance Bike. Need to learn how to stop spending money. LOL.

Going to have lunch, perhaps with coworkers, and the head home to pack up the M6 for the trip.

  8. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Hmmm, I just paid the balance due for my bike ride in Germany, perhaps I will learn how to stop spending so much money when I return to the US after this trip…

  9. Steve says:

What else are you going to spend it on? Plumbing? hahahahaha I crack myself up.

  10. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

No need to spend it on plumbing, I’ve got a “system” works out! 🙂

Related: I thought the Dollar to Euro exchange rate was better than it is. Poop.

  11. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    “works” = “worked”

    Double poop!

  12. Barb says:

well – at least all your money doesn’t go to building a shed…….. just sayin……..

I thought the Dollar to Euro exchange rate right now was really good???

  13. Steve says:

I bet I have some Deutsche Marks somewhere… see how they work.

  14. Steve says:

The Google is saying .9 Euro to the dollar. What was your exchange rate?

  15. bob says:

That reminds me, I have some euros left over from my germany trip. Care to make a trade?

  16. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

I’d have to do math to figure out what my exchange rate was. But, I’m in my car right now so I can’t do that.

  17. bob says:

Why is math not allowed in your car?

  18. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    It’s allowed, I just can’t do it.
