Please Hold…

I’m trying a new work mentality in order to study German every day. Starting tomorrow I will attempt to do my studies early in the morning (as opposed to 9:00am like I am now). Because of this I am putting the blog on hold for a few minutes… Your patience is appreciated.

Oh hi, I’m back.

Thankfully Not Too Late Of A Night
After hacking my way through German class last night, hard to imagine but I will be traveling there in a little more than a month, I made it to Smith’s Olde Bar for the set put on by My Jerusalem. I actually got there about fifteen minutes or so before their set and was impressed by the band called Dayshawn that proceeded them. (Sadly I don’t think Dayshawn — which is the name of the lead singer as I found out when I approached him at the bar between sets — has any records out. There is one song on Spotify if you want to give it a listen.) I’d like to see Dashawn perform again, but while the played a boatload of Atlanta shows recently, they are from here, their near-term tour dates to appear to be too frequent.

My Jerusalem took the stage around 9:40pm and put on a very entertaining set of no longer than 45 minutes. They were not the headliner for the night so their set was limited.

I was home and well asleep long before 10:30pm.

Flat Fixed, Riding Again Tonight
Last night I changed the tube in the front tire. There was a tiny pinhole, hence the slowness of the leak, that must have been caused by the compression of the tube when I either hit the curb at slow speed, or more likely, the screwdriver at a greater speed. Using my bare fingers I felt the entire inside of the tire itself, and felt nothing that would generate another pinhole in the new tube. I also pumped it up to pressure last night, and this morning ensured that the presser was maintained.

Tonight I ride again!

Because I’ll be rolling out of town on Friday morning tonight’s ride will be my last until next Monday (weather permitting), when I’ve returned from Black Mountain, North Carolina.

Oof Da!
As if this morning’s delay wasn’t bad enough, I forgot to publish the post. D’Oh!

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

it’s just slow enough that I’m just not in the mood to be at work.
I caught all up on Bob & Cathy’s AT Trail blog – I just don’t think I could ever do that.

Yesterday Allan switched out all the outlets in the shed – what fun!
I guess the inspector has to come inside & check the way it is all wired to the main panel – so he has to do a couple more things bvefore we can call for the inspection again.

We took a walk up to the quickie mart up the street -I bought a scratcher a while back that was actually a winner – so traded it in for the $20 I won & bought another $5 one. This time – no luck……… I was hoping for a bigger prize! I almost never buy those things, but when I actually won, I got my hopes up.

  2. I forgot about the AT blog. I think I’ll spend some time reading it tonight.

We are thinking about doing the first day of BRAG (Sunday) Oglethorpe to Social Circle. Route isn’t posted yet – but we will take the truck out to Social Circle on Saturday, so we can hang with everyone Sunday afternoon/evening for a while.
If you are interested in that.

  6. That’s June 5th? Sounds interesting!

Live from the Birmingham office. Seem to be making some progress on determining what’s wrong with their fiber optic system over here.

Good games meeting last night some new ideas for the front gate.

I also was reading Kathy and Bob’s blog yesterday Once Upon a Time I did think about hiking the 80 but I don’t know that I would do it now it has to be much interesting and fun to be sharing that with someone.
