Today is my mother’s birthday, as stated in German in today’s title. Actually, the title says “The birthday of my mother”, if you want to be exact.
Apple fans will also know today as the day that would have been Steve Jobs’s 61st birthday.
No Ride This Morning
I have no excuse other than I just didn’t want to get out of bed this morning. Boo me! I did manage to watch the final half of s04e02 whilst lounging in bed however. I also looked at the remainder of season four and saw that I am home-free for watching two complete episodes during my ninety minute rides for the remainder of this season.
Dinner Tonight
Tonight I will be using a Scoutmob coupon for dinner at Radial. The coupon is targeted for expiration in the next two weeks and I really want to use it before this occurs. So tonight will be the night.
After dinner I am going to try to go straight home and do some German studying.
Have to keep things short so that I can handle some business today.
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
I had a nice relaxing evening, made some enchiladas for the freezer with the leftover mexican chicken, made an extra pan for my co-worker with a little baby, and I still have some left. Guess I need to buy more tortillas so I can make more for the freezer.
Allan had a “real” call & they should be on the news today. I guess a big tree fell on a house somewhere in NW Atlanta – they had to extricate someone. He was so exited, he stopped by my office to tell me about it in person.
Surly is supposed to be over at the in-laws house today doing the crown molding, Allan may go try to help, to learn more about how to do it the easier way (Surly says it is easy – LOL)
Tonight in the mac n cheese party at Blue Ball & Bone Hole’s. I can’t wait to see what recipe Allan comes up with.
I went to go look at Radial’s webpage. Like, seriously, why don’t people put the important stuff on the first page? Like location and hours and stuff? I don’t know why, but it always annoys me when restaurants make you look for their address and then don’t have a “directions” link to follow. Totally completely entirely first world problems. Let me know how you like it.
I’m finally caught up on your blogging from when I was on vacation. LOVED that David Bowie-themed menu. 🙂
Stacy – I 100% agree on the restaurant webpage address & directions. I can get over the no link for directions, but at least put the address!!!!
Hope vacation was a blast, it looked like it was from what I saw on FB.
BTW – did you all (except Paaulie) see there is more options that like “LIKE” on FB today????
I was thinking about Surly just yesterday. It sounds as if he’s made a good recovery from his surgery.
I will give a Radial update tomorrow. I’ve eaten breakfast/brunch there a handful of times, this will be my first dinner.
I *heard* about FB adding more options to Like. 😉
Yes! Apparently they’re called “Reactions” but I’ve never used one yet. Go post something, Barb, so I can react to it. 😀
It was a wonderful trip home! I’m going to post a whole photo album when I eventually get around to it (maybe tonight)…mainly because it’s easier to find them in the future when I do it like that. It was lovely warm (50s) even if one day saw 50 MPH winds (no joke!). But, as usual, it’s great to be back here again too.
Is anyone else planning to pop over to Fado’s on Friday night to say goodbye to Nancy aka Easy Cheeks?
I cannot on Friday night as I have other plans. I’m so out of the loop, where is Easy Cheeks going?
She sold her condo and is moving to Florida somewhere…not sure exactly where though. 🙁
Almost noon and I’m just coming up for air. Still troubleshooting screw-ups and associated events from the weekend. Remember the motto of network security- if you can do your job then we’re not doing ours.
A quiet evening except for Zelda being wound up for being in her box most of the day. And apparently Brownie has been gnawing on the horse blankets hanging over the stall walls in the barn! That will shorten his life expectancy quickly, as Debbie will kill him!
Hopefully, the saga of the chain saw will be heading towards a solution today, as I’m dropping it off at the doctor this afternoon. The manufacturer says I should be good with warranty work.
So long EZ Cheeks!!

I am thinking about going Friday night – I don’t even know Fado is in midtown, but I’ll find it. Allan has to work now, he’s bummed, he & Nancy (& I) were pretty good freinds back in the day.
I guess we will find out friday where she is going & why!
and – it looks like the new “reactions” are just on the internet version of FB – not on the app yet. (or, I may need to update……..) apps need to be updated way too much.
Fado in Midtown is at the corner of P’tree and 8th. Parking is tough, but MARTA is only 2 blocks away. I bet you could park at Stacy’s and walk!!
There is paid parking in a garage next to Fado if you don’t mind paying for parking. I parked there when I went to Warby Parker, which is across the street from Fado, for my glasses.
I love paying for parking………. NOT!
I was just going to say: if you want to park in front of my house and walk with me, you’re welcomed to! That’s my plan anyway. 🙂 (It’s just 3 blocks up) Depending when you plan to go, that is. I’ll probably go early because I’m OLD. Hahaha.
I’m older than you (& I like early) – but not sure what time I will get downtown. We can coordinate Friday.
Sounds good to me! Paulie, if your plans change, join us!
Huh, I never knew that Fado opened a second location.
Are you alive?
