Too Sleepy, Too Busy

I had a grand time at DBA Barbecue last night, drinking too much beer and spending too much money. I’ve heard that the company Christmas party was fun, but I’m glad that I took a pass.

This morning I just couldn’t get out of bed. Perhaps it was the chill in the air, or the fact that I slept so lousy, or that I am not feeling all that great today.

Tonight will be my final German class for this quarter. I’ve packed a bottle of Glühwein, though it might not be necessary because tonight is also Goethe Zentrum’s Christmas happy hour, at which they will be serving Glühwein.

I’d really love to take a nap today… Hope things are going much better in your world.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

A quiet night last night around the farm. Cleaned the barn and wrestled the dogs. Jack is now being pimped out on a couple rescue websites- not too late for you to have your very own big black dog!!!

The furnace keeps trying to start every few minutes and then shuts off- No air is moving, so I wonder if the motor starter is too pooped to pop. We have a home warranty, but will first call our local HVAC guy (and fellow fox hunter) and have him take a look. I’m sure he’ll understand if it’s something major to go with the warranty folks.

Bob, is there a plan for Saturday?

Nothing too exciting going on for us – Allan got the tar paper on the roof of the shed, so that’s sort of done for hte moment – I think he’s going to put a metal roof on it. Got the rest of the lights out on the trees in teh front yard.

Made a huge batch of turkey soup from the turkey we had last weekend.
We will be eating soup for a while.

Trying to decide if we can attend the hasher monthly dinner party Wed. down in the East Lake area – theme is Balls. Meaning – all the food must be in the shape of a ball. Could be interesting.

Hyox party is Saturday- of course no idea what’s happening, but the hotel this year is really close (Courtyard on Delk) so to me that means we definitely are going somewhere on the FurBus. I don’t think that place even has a party room.

I think there WILL be a nap today. I feel like death. Going to quit the shop early, get some drugs and finish the day at home. Yay laptops and remote-working.

I was considering the ball party too, Barb, but if I’m feeling this way I probably won’t. My contribution to shindigs are usually pigs in blankets, so I’m planning on making them into balls. Haha!

    Ok…off to die now.

I was thinking I might be starting to feel a little crappy, but a good dose of Vitamin D at lunch (JoAnna & I sat outside at Panera) I think helped.

Since the weather is getting colder, it’s a perfect time for a tailgate! Does anyone want to participate in the 3rd annual Gwinnett Gladiator Tailgate? I can organize it for January 16 or 23 – games start at 7:35 and 7:05, respectively. Since the Sunday afternoon ones in the past weren’t cold enough, let’s do it when the sun goes down!

If that doesn’t work for enough people, I can look into February.

    Lemme know!

Cub Scout leadership meeting last night. Even outside of work when I delegate responsibilities it all goes to hell! Granted the leader we delegated to is a ditz and we sort of expected failure. So frustrating.

Steve, Saturday’s plan is to start around 10 on the Big Dig. I will have a lot of muscle on hand so we should make pretty quick work of the pit. Post dig beers and food is on me!

  7. Sorry Laura your comment got stuck in moderation hell. I’m free on both of those dates.

  8. Barb says:

Allan works the 16th – but we should be open the 23rd.
I have plenty of warm clothes.
And – if I remember right – it was sort of cold in the afternoon last time.
I’ll find out of June & Mark are available.

  9. Steve says:

Either date works for us, as far as I know.

10 AM works great for me, Bob. Remind me of the street address, please.

    Stacy, sorry you’re feeling crappy.

    410 spring ridge trace

    Thanks in advance for helping!

  11. Barb says:

June & Mark are maybes (they want to see the Alaska Aces earlier in the month).
Once we get it all set, I’ll ask her again.
