As I was driving home last night, for the first time, I regretted my decision to skip the Iowa trip. That regret was dashed when I experienced my first bout of diarrhea since Sunday night. Hello, Bactrum! If this round of medication can finally eradicate the ills that I’ve had since the beginning of the month then I will cherish the day I chose not to ride to Iowa and instead got a prescription for Bactrum from my doctor.
Perhaps My Mind Went To Iowa
Driving home last night, for the first time?
I left work last night for a Target trip; the trip was to get the Bactrum prescription filled and pick up a sympathy card for my uncle. I was successful at doing each.
After shopping at Target I hopped into the M6 and started driving home. Traffic was really shitty (again) so I started calculating alternative paths home.
Along the way I decided to stop at Costco to eat a cheap dinner and to pick up a few things from there.
It wasn’t until I pulled into the driveway and started unloading everything that I questioned why my briefcase was not present. After panicking for a minute I recalled that I had planned to return to the office after shopping in Target — not head home.
DANGEN!
So, into the M6 I sat and drove all the way back to the Perimeter Mall area. Thankfully traffic was significantly lighter at that time, but I was still aggravated that I had to make my daily commute for a second time.
Needless to say, by the time I arrived home for the second time last night it was late enough for me to do little more than to watch a little television on my iPad before going to bed.
Ten Years Of Shitty Commutes
Yesterday marked the ten year anniversary of our occupation of this office building. Ten years of shitty commutes for me. I’m so tired of this.
Fifty Is The New Fifty
Though she’s been celebrating for days, today is the actual fiftieth birthday of ITP-Reader Barb. Wish I were in Iowa celebrating with you. Have a fantastic day!
Cheers,
Paulie [eat/ga]
Thanks for the birthday wish!
So far Allan fixed some light switches & some other electrical things in the basement, went out for a little lunch, did some Cedar Rapids sightseeing & now we are going to work on trimming tree branches.
Exciting birthday, huh?
Dinner out somewhere tonight.
Out to the Huddle for breakfast. Would have checked in from there, but had forgotten to put my phone on the charger.
Ran into the man in charge of the tree crew working across the street and had him come and look. While we won’t make any money, it won’t cost us and he’ll push the debris into piles. We spent the afternoon marking the borders and the keepers.
Tomorrow, a friend is having her horse inspected in Eufala and figure we’ll be gone most of the day. Maybe we can get a ride in on Sunday.

Ping me about Sunday if you want to meet up. It’s going to be hot, the earlier the better.
