I was almost ready to do a morning training ride today. Almost. I am finally starting to get healthy and if things continue to progress I will certainly by heading to Iowa next week. Unfortunately there will most likely be only two more opportunities for me to get out for training rides between now and then.
One other thing I’d like to see change between now and next week is the daily headache I’ve had recently. As someone who rarely suffers from headaches I find this annoying and distracting.
My Return To German
Last night kicked off German A2.1. While not feeling ready to start again, the night was okay. It was a bit strange to have a different teacher for the first time after three sessions, but change is good, right?
Long Days And Nights Ahead
To satisfy management I will be putting in many hours between now and Thursday in order to get my project in a position where it can be without me for nearly two weeks.
I’m growing weary of putting in extra hours, but unless I change things this will be what I have to do.
I have nothing else to say today, and plenty of work to tend, so I will cut this short.
Have a great day friends!
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
Glad you’re feeling better. While I know you are trying to get some extra riding in, don’t stress about it. Iowa will be a blast no matter what kind of shape you’re in.
A quick stop for some mowing at the Ben Hilton, then on home for some Tour and cobbles. An amazing ride by Tony Martin- that’s the best way to win a bike race. Reading today’s transcript, it sounds like a windy, rainy mess. Already one police motor has landed in the ditch, so it sounds like fun! 🙂
I will be making an appearance at George’s tonight. Debbie has a “girls dinner”, so suggested I take myself out. I ran Monday evening and didn’t feel too bad, so this might not hurt. Much.
Barb, are y’all back from Iowa by the 25th? We may make a reservation for the guest room at the Garage Mahal.

We haven’t ridden in about a week and a half as well. Oh well…….. we are tapering, right?
Finally watched some TdF last night – that was a great stage.
We will NOT be back from Iowa on the 25th – that is the last day of the ride.
We will most likely be making the way too long of a drive home on Sunday 7/26. Why would you want to come stay in Marietta that night?
and – FYI – good chance the hash Halloween home crawl is going to be in Marietta this fall………. that should be interesting. Might be time to actually figure out our group green army men group costumes!
Still battling some demons associated with the last week’s illness, hoping for completely recovery soon.
Tapering. Of course! 🙂
Your headaches may be caused by dehydration.
Drink plenty of water, (without the hops)! Feel better and have a good time in Iowa. Talk to you when you return.
PS: guess what will be late
Well, I may have spoken too soon. 🙁
Been drinking plenty of water. Believe it or not, I’ve not have a beer since a week ago Sunday.
Wedding and reception in Marietta. Liable to be an open bar.
Sitting in the Newnan ER with Debbie, who was bounced off Gus this morning. Painful pelvis. Ouch.
Although “Painful Pelvis” would be an interesting hash name. Hope she’s back on her feet soon.
Bummer for Debbie, hope it isn’t that bad.
BTW Paulie – Tom said he might know of some old past years Team Wimpy jerseys that never sold, if he finds them & they have any in your size, want 1 or two? And – they have a big expo at the start & probably at every overnight city, you should be able to find some fun socks.
Sure. I wear an XL (42-44 chest) and will take one if he finds one in that size. I will seek fun socks since I’ve not been able to find any recently.
