And I’m not just referring to belches, sneezes, and farts…
Yesterday afternoon my right shin was still giving me reasons to notice it; the condition lingers this morning. Because of this I decided to skip my ride yesterday in order to give my body another day to heal. The last thing I want to do 2.5 weeks out from going to Iowa is injure myself badly.
I’m hoping that all is back to normal tomorrow morning so that I can resume my morning ride routine.
All Work And No Play
My decision to skip my workout last night was also made a little easier by the amount of work I have to accomplish by next Monday, and the fact that I actually being productive yesterday afternoon. In those rare instances when people aren’t bothering me and I am getting code written, some of which may work properly, I enjoy my profession and I am absorbed by it. I just wish these times would occur more frequently.
I left the office a little after 8:00pm, fooled by the sun into thinking that it was much earlier than that. At least traffic was not an issue.
Looks As If There Will Be A Chance To Live Next To Me Again
When I left for work yesterday I noticed a new (to the house) pickup truck parked in the neighbor’s driveway. Recalling that it was near the end of the month and that the young couple who have lived there since my neighbor moved to California nearing the end of last year I pondered if they were planning to move out. My suspicion was proved correct when I arrived home last night, now in darkness. I could see the young woman packing things into a bag inside a nearly-empty bedroom.
Pity, though I never made a formal introduction they seemed like a nice couple, people who kept mostly to themselves. I can only hope that the next renters are just as desirable.
Two Weeks Have Passed?
How have two weeks passed since my last German homework and I’ve yet to get cracking on preparing for the next? Where does the time go? Perhaps I should have taken that review course, especially since we’ve not been able to meet up for trivia on Thursday nights since the end of the last session.
I’m Going To Need A Nap Today
At best I got 5.5 hours of sleep last night and I am already feeling the affects of that. I wonder when I can sneak away to my car sometime today and catch a few winks. Only the Shadow knows…
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
Check the cleat on the shoe, to be sure it is “straight”?
I had a boring evening, but did managed a good walk up to Kroger, Fitbit & Endomondo have very different ideas on the mileage, I think Fitbit has it as less than 3 miles & Endomondo has it at right at 4 miles. I think it is closer to 3.5 to 3.75 miles at the most.
Tonight I got talked into a “girls night” to go see Magic Mike. I am so curious how many guys will be there on heterosexual dates. I never saw the first one as I think this is definitely one you have to see in a theatre, I’m so worried I won’t understand the story. (hahahahaha)
That’s a good idea, I will do that tonight.
Shin pain? (not to be confused by Northern Ireland’s Shin Fein) Except for whacking my leg into the chainring a few times, I never recall shin problems. Is this more muscular or structural? Shin splints aren’t a cyclists problem as they normally occur due to pounding your legs into the ground.
We had a quiet night as Debbie was suffering from a migrain. I caught up on “So you think you can dance?” which is trying to stay alive- this will likely be its last season. I don’t think it’s getting the ratings, much like American Idle (yuk yuk).

Dang Steve, you have veritgo, Debbie has a migraine – what the heck is happening down there?
My big logistical issue of the day (lol) is we are trying to figure out a way to meet up @ a Kroger gas station to get 30 or 40 cents off – we try to fill up both cars when we can. The closest one is out by Kennesaw Mtn. It is looking like after the movie tonight.
And – the other bright spot of the day, my friend Wayne that works for Delta PT in St. Croix got us exit rows for our trips to CO & OR this summer! Its the little things that make us happy.
Barb I’m sure the plot is complex, multi-layered, with a big reveal at the end. Γ°ΕΈΛβ¬
I haven’t had shin problems previously, even when riding in the mountain bike shoes. I’m wondering if I gave myself the problem walking in Athens in Chuck Taylors, but I’ve done that a lot as well. I only noticed it for the first time Sunday and that was well before any sort of fatigue may have set in.
Maybe it’s just because I’m zeroing in on fifty and starting to deteriorate? π
That must be it… you turn 50 and the wheels come off. Look at me, for instance! Hell, I’m lucky to be alive- just ask Debbie! π
yep – might just be getting old. I only have 17 days left to be young……….
