Today will be a day of sitting in meetings, all while I need to be coding. I keep falling behind schedule and am struggling to get back.
Last night I stopped off for dinner (in the rain?, it wasn’t suppose to rain yesterday) at El Pollo Norteño. At the restaurant I got my normal fare of 1/4 chicken with beans and rice. So good.
After returning home, turning on the A/C, unpacking the car, and getting some things ready for today’s trash/recycling pickup I popped onto the bed. I don’t know how much longer I was awake. I guess the long weekend and early-morning bike ride caught up to me.
Rest Day
Tuesday is also an exercise-free day, mostly because there is no time in the day during which I could get exercise.
I think that I still need to figure out how to get some light exercise on my “rest” days because even with all of the riding I’ve been doing for the past month I don’t feel as if I am losing any weight.
Die Letzte Klasse
Tonight is the last class of German A1.4, and I still need to finish my homework!
I watched to prolog for the Tour de Suisse yesterday (no spoilers please, I’m trying to catch up) and was tickled to hear the countdown in German.
After tonight I will have three “free” Tuesdays before cranking it all up again for German A2.1.
Another short post. 🙁 I have to get ready for my 8am meeting.
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
We rode over to Kennesaw Mtn & up last night. I decided to only go about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way, since Allan was coming back. There was some crazy bootcamp group of about 100 people doing lunges up the road, so it was was an interesting decent. My hands hurt from holding the brakes so much.
then – watched Birdman last night – that is one weird movie, but I enjoyed it.
Today Allan is working at Cycleworks, so I think I’ll drive over there and we will do a ride over that way tonight. Then we will drop off the truck at the shop to be sure it is ready for the roadtrip to Iowa, I thought the brakes need something done to them the last time I drove it (back in March). Plus I’m sure it could use an oil change.
Good on ya, Barb!
I plan to ride again tomorrow morning before work — have to beat the projected 97° F weather predicted.
Drei, zwei, eine, gehen!
Debbie and I both rode last night, despite the heat. She on Gus and me on my CX bike. I figured the gravel roads would be slightly cooler than the asphalt- not that I can exclusively ride gravel. I think I managed about half gravel for the 18 miles. I did suck down a fair amount of dust, though.
I got into watching the Stanley Cup last night. I really didn’t have a dog in the fight, but will always pull for the underdog. That was as exciting as any hockey I’ve seen. I’m amazed at the announcer, who can continuously rattle on in a complete stream of consciousness- and make reasonable sense.
I think today is an off day that might have a little grass cutting. yippee.

Riding alone will not make you lose weight, you have to change the diet. Riding will help maintain your weight while having a bad diet though 🙂
Barb, let me know next time you are riding on this side of town and I’ll join you. I have a vendor dinner tonight or I would crash your party and ride with you.
But I am burning thousands more calories while eating the same amount or less. I should be able to lose weight.
Bob – I was going to ping you once I knew we had a plan, but hadn’t gotten around to it so far today. You are always welcome to join us – though it would be a much slower ride than you are used to.
Allan says they say its a no drop ride @ Cycleworks – lord help me……… this may kill me toight, or I may need to short cut it.
Our Tuesday ride (6:00pm) begins at the NEW Roswell store location (Connexion Shopping Center) and is a 27 miles, Moderate Pace (15-17mph) ride.
