Gone Camping

Busy morning packing up the Jackmobile, heading down southwest in a little bit. It’s going to be cold, very cold by my camping standards, so I’ve packed plenty of warm clothes, blankets, and hand warmers in addition to my normal camping gear.

I am also playing the role of an optimist, rare, I know, by packing cycling gear.

Back on Monday.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

I wonder where my handwarmers are that were left over from the trip to Green Bay. Hmmmmmmm

Any average sporting goods store should have them. I think i’ll bring mine too!

Haven’t got approval from the mizzus yet, but Jill sent me the map to the campground. Also be advised this is the weekend of the steeplechase at Calloway, so there may be more traffic than normal.

Except for some lawn maintenance last night, I was a slug. Should have gotten on my bike, especially considering this weekends forecast, but just could not pull the trigger.

Hoping to be on the first bus out of town to avoid any Halloween traffic FUBAR’s.

    Have a safe weekend everyone!

Just returned from Vegas last night. I swear I work with the strangest people on the planet. You would think these guys have never left their houses. A woman would walk by and they all acted like they were 12, it was embarrassing. The best part, one dude brought his play station console so he could play games in his hotel room. Unreal.

Camping was just not in the cards this weekend, trick or treating in this neighborhood apparently is like the superbowl. Everybody is involved and there will be kids everywhere, should be fun as hell. Not to mention that all the dads that go with their kids drag coolers of beer with them. Looks like it is one big party.

Now that sounds like my kind of ToT’ing.

Bob, do your co-workers travel much for business? And while LV has certainly a lot of scenery, I don’t remember that it was all that head turning quality.

  5. Barb says:

I think the houses should be giving you a beer if you ask, instead of candy.

  6. bob says:

They don’t travel much except to other conferences (thankfully for society). There was definitely some scenery around but they acted like they have never seen a woman before. It was crazy.

Barb you are right, I’ll have to ask a few houses for a beer 🙂

  7. Jenka says:

Bob, coolers of beer are amateur hour. We load up the insulated backpack for easier portability. We call it the Magical Backpack.

  8. bob says:

Good point Jenka! Another alternative is a wagon, carry the beer on the way out and tired kids on the way back.

Camp is set up and I am two beers and a half can of chile con queso Pringles in! Cellular is almost ubiquitous these days, so I am still able to stay in contact (at least until my battery runs out).

Sure, we make our once a decade trip to East Atlanta and it’s the night you bug out of town. Our friend Mike is playing at Tomatillos tonight.
