How’s that for a title!
Three days of sub-freezing temperatures followed by one “nice” day, and then clouds and rain. Yeah, it could have been worse, but it also could be a lot better.
Today’s Daily Challenge
Strengthen core muscles with five bridge stretches.
Our lower abdominal muscles help hold us in alignment, and when they’re out of shape, it can cause lower back pain. Keeping these muscles strong helps to bolster the body’s core, which aids in maintaining good balance and posture.
Guess who’ll be returning to the gym this weekend.
No silly, me!
(check back on Monday to see if I kept my word)
The Nearly Chickenless Chicken Salad
Because traffic sucked royal ass again last night I wound up eating dinner in the work neighborhood again. This time I met my boss at Outback for dinner, where I attempted to be good better and I ordered the Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad for dinner.
I was happily munching my way through the salad when our bartender walked up holding a small plate and said “I’m supposed to give this to you.” Confused, I looked at the plate and realized that it held a grilled chicken breast — the one that I had not even noticed was missing from my plate! I gladly accepted the offering and mixed the pieces of chicken into my now third-eaten plate of food.
I honestly can’t decide which is stranger, the fact that the kitchen sent out my Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad without its chicken, or the fact that I was oblivious to this fact.

“Breakfast Of Fatties”
I didn’t have anything handy to eat for breakfast so I purchased a packet of Kellogg’s PopTarts from one of my coworker’s “General Store.” Not a great idea, I know.
Did you know that I abhor the crust of a PopTart because I think it’s dry and tasteless and will do anything in my power to avoid it?
(pssst: I took this photo using my iPad 3 and edited the result using Snapseed. I know! Right?)
Wanna See Something Funny?
I assumed that the next time I visited Atlanta’s Punchline Comedy Club it would be to see a headlining comedy act whose work I found hilarious. Instead, tonight I’ll be heading there with coworkers to see someone of whom I have never heard.
HA!
Go figure.
Speaking of comedians, I found out this morning that Jerry Seinfeld has kicked off the third season of his short interview shows Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. Whaaaat is the deal with all of this internet content being released without me knowing???
Two Days Of “Getting Things Done”
That’s how I hope I will describe my weekend come Monday’s blog post.

Get my camera gear ready for an outing tomorrow morning with my old photography buddies. We’ll be headed out to breakfast and then off to the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
Were you angry at that pop tart? It looks like you beat the crap out of it.
Last night was a Roswell dirt and tacos night. Night ride at Big Creek followed by tacos (burrito for me though) at Mr. Taco. Good times.
Bob, it’s called Mr. TACO, the name alone tells you what to order. 🙂
I’m angry at how much I hate the crusts on PopTarts. This is how I tear through a food item that I am supposed to avoid. Occasionally I think “Hey, that’s kinda artistic!” and I snap a photo.
I’ve decided I might have missed my calling- I had “fun” repairing the plumbing yesterday- except for getting my hands nasty with the glue and primer (no, not you Barb!!). I’ll dive back in tomorrow to fix what I missed.
We had dinner at Taco Mac and since it was Thursday, it was pint night and the brewery for January is… Red Hare!! I had the stout (?) and it was pretty good.
My annual HS get together is at Manuels tomorrow evening, but no other plans that I’m aware of. Anyone interested in riding?

When Paulie hates Pop-Tarts, he really hates them.
Good point Paulie, but when was the last time you had a taco at Taco Mac? 🙂
I want to ride somewhere in the dirt (more like mud) on Sunday but not sure what will be open.
I’m surprised that Big Creek was opened.
I had a brown sugar cinnamon pop tart this morning – sometimes they call your name at the grocery store & you just can’t say no. I’m not a fan of the edges, but I don’t hate them. I jsut find it funny you edited a picture of a pop tart.
I’d LOVE to go ride this weekend, but I think the weather isn’t going to cooperate Saturday. Allan works Saturday, if nothing else, we will go for a hike on Sunday. I told Michelle we’d help her get the 3 dogs out if she wants to.
so Steve – you needed more pint glasses? really?
Barb, no photo of mine gets published before I edit it. Yes, I’m that particular.
I forgot to add that I picked up my two shirts from the dry cleaners last night and sure enough my favorite shirt has spots. Something bizarre happened because the spots correspond exactly to where the buttons touch the shirt when you touch the two halves. 🙁 I “think” I’ll be able to wear the shirt when I know that I’ll be in darkened places, but it saddens me to know that I can’t use this shirt as a “go to” selection any longer.
get a vest to wear over it….???
I understand – I’ve found a small hole in the sleeves of a couple shirts I own, I have no idea how it could have happened. I’ve never seen a moth or anything in my closet, and don’t remember bumping or snagging.
But – I look at it as a chance to go buy something new.
I know Barb, but I was in a wing mood, and those are pretty good- I can rarely convince Debbie to make the trip as she is not fond of their food and rarely drinks. And I don’t think I have “that” many pint beer glasses. No, really- stop laughing.
I wonder if we can get a gravel grinder together? Trish seems to have a route down on Silk Sheets she rides.
Steve, does the TM down by you offer roasted wings? I find them to be a nice alternative even when I am in a “wing” mood.
No gravel for me (no in between tires), but I can see the silk sheets area good for that.
We haven’t had wings in a while – maybe we should break out the fryer for some foodball watching Sunday? I still have a few cheese curds in the freezer. I may have to put that idea in Allan’s head.
Hmm, gravel grinder? You have my interest, we can take the cross bikes out.
That’s what I was thinking…
Oh wait, cheese curds and football at the Garage Mahal?
Maybe, maybe, maybe. I have to ask Allan. Like he’d say no….. but still….
Will the weather be deck friendly on Sunday?
Sunday is supposed to be cool, but sunny. If a plan arises I’d love to be included and will gladly bring stuff to share.
I think we could be convinced…

Allan called me back – he said we could break out the fryer Sunday.
You guys could still gravel grind earlier if you feel so inclinded.
Time TBD – doesn’t really matter to me.
San Fran vs Carolina is at 1pm, San Diego vs Denver 4pm
Awesome, I have birthday dinner with the inlaws at 6 so I could catch the early game or the first half of the second game.
I think we have enough wings already in the freezer, but do we ever have too many really? We do need other things to fry, like french fries, tater tots, onion rings, egg rolls, or ???
Its Bob’s spur of the moment birthday party!
Let me know by text (after this afternoon) an ETA so we can get the oil ready, it does take a little while to heat up the oil.
I don’t want too many, but we could invite a few more.
Count me in (letting me know what time I should arrive). In hand I’ll have some tater tots and onion rings to be fried up, some beer for me, and maybe a present for the birthday boy.
Sounds like a plan coming together, do you want to shoot for 1 so we can watch the early game? I’ll get my ride in early.
I’m sure I can convince the mizzus. We have an errand to run in the morning, and I can ride to it and catch a ride back (in-laws).
1PM-ish?
1pm ish it is! See y’all Sunday. We can hopefully watch the game on the deck – bring a jacket, or if its windy, we can always set up in the garage.
I might be up for this! Paulie, will you keep me apprised of the plans via text? (If anything changes.)
Sure thing!
