Not because of my back, though it’s still not pleasing me, it’s because of my procrastination with my income taxes. Even though I went to my tax preparer in early March my returns were not delivered to me until last Saturday. I should have read the email sent to me because it explained that I needed to print out a form prior to their filing my taxes electronically. Had I read this email I could have printed out the form and taken it to my tax preparer this morning. Instead, without a printer in my house, I’ve had to travel to the office, print out my forms, return to Decatur to return the form to my tax preparer, and then return to the office.
It’s not like I have an abundance of time to take care of shit like this.
So.
Annoyed.
Yesterday’s Daily Challenge
Take a meditation break with a calming word or phrase.
Meditation techniques like finding a calming word (mantra) or phrase and repeating it as you breathe slowly and deeply can help you physically relax and clear your mind. It’s thought that meditation reduces the activity of the sympathetic nervous system, which helps the body get ready to fight or escape a conflict situation. Meditation exercises also seem to increase the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system, which relaxes the body by slowing down the heart and breathing rates, improving blood flow, and increasing digestive juices.
I should practice this a lot today…
That’s All Folks!
Good luck and good fun to those of you riding the “Wheels of Fire” ride tomorrow.
Good luck and good fun to those of you running the “Run Before You Crawl” 5k and pub crawl tomorrow.
If I can find the time I plan to see a couple of concerts this weekend (Gringo Star tonight, The Magnetic Fields tomorrow night). And with any luck I’ll be able to start my lawnmower on Sunday and push it over the weeds which have sprouted.
The rest of the time I’ll be working. At least I won’t have to worry about getting my income taxes done…

I guess waking up angry is good for my sleep. After posting I promptly went back to sleep until about 7:15am.
I now have all of the paperwork printed (though there was some difficulty with the new fancy-pants printer at work. I tried using the new “Follow You” feature which allows you to queue a print job and have it print when you log into the printer” — that didn’t work. My biggest fear is that my tax returns are now bouncing around the ether, or worse yet, going to be dumped out by someone.
I think it’s time for me to look into buying a printer again.
I’m shocked you dont have a printer at all at the house. I rarely use the one we have, it is a piece o crap, but still…….
While trying to get my crap together to go to the Day Spa tonight after work, I tried to find my arm warmers. I’m so aggravated, I can not find them anywhere, and I swear I remember putting them in the bin in the garage that says bike clothes. I even checked the bins nearby, thinking did I stick them in the wrong one? They are no where……… ARGHHHHHHHH is all I have to say. Now I will have to wear a windbreaker to start the ride, not that that will kill me, it might be a good thing, but that’s not the point.
But – ont eh positive side, I did find some full finger bike gloves I’ve been looking for all winter.
The lack of printing was exactly why I dumped my printer — that and the extremely high price being charged for ink cartridges. I believe I mentioned my lack of printer in the blog previously, and about the only time I print is this time of year.
Does anyone else find it absurd that in order to file electronically I have to print out and sign a consent form?
Now you have me wondering where my arm warmers are — not that I’ll need them since I’m not riding — they are brand new because I’m too much of a wimp to ride in the cool weather even with arm warmers.
And I just ordered a Brother laser printer from Amazon. I feel so early-2000s…
probably because you had someone prepare your taxes if you don’t sign, you could use the excuse that you didn’t know, blah, blah, blah if you got audited. I filed electroncially, and I didn’t have to sign anything, but I did my own. (had to pay the damn Feds too, but the State gave me a little back)
Rumor has it Drew & Michelle are going to ride Wheels O Fire too – this is turning into a party!
Yes, I e-filed mine myself and didn’t have to print anything out…my taxes have been submitted, refunds received and money spent…
I was considering Wheels O’Fire but since we were out of town last weekend, I’m just going to stick to the comet, get it over with and get back home to catch up on things. I’ve only mentioned it to my coach (we haven’t ‘discussed’ it just yet) but I’m thinking Wilson 100 in Aug.
Nibbles is still a little sore today but not the funny little drunk sailor she was last night. I haven’t looked in her mouth yet. Paulie, she left the doctor with more meds than you.
Looking forward to seeing folks at the ride tomorrow. I was thinking it won’t be too cold in the morning, but the downhills might be a bit nipply. Off to the feed store….
FP
Martha – if I actually do enough riding to survive BRAG & then half of RAGBRAI, I may be able to do a century in August – just not sure if I’ll actually “want” to be on my bike for that many hours…..
I’m not really sure I *want* to be on the bike for that long but I feel like I *need* to try it, at least once.
Maybe if I keep working on it I won’t be on the bike as long as I think I will be 🙂
