Tomorrow There Will Be A “Proper” Blog

I’ve decided to hold of returning this space back to its “normal” form until tomorrow. I’ll be undergoing my surgery some time this afternoon (scheduled for 1:00pm) and expect to be back to a normal mental state tomorrow. Even though I’m taking the optimistic stance and am expecting all to go well today I’ve planned on taking the day “off” from work tomorrow; that should provide me ample time to write a proper blog for the first time in weeks.

Until then…

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Good luck today Paulie, you have my number if you need anything.

Paulie– how are you getting to the hospital? Did you find someone to take you?

HAR! see ya in 30 minutes 🙂

hope all goes well today- and don’t drive the nurses too crazy……..

See ya Saturday – I expect a quick & full recovery!

  4. Thanks. I am hoping the worst of it is the hunger which has already started to build. Knowing that midnight was my food cutoff (until they are done this afternoon) I allowed myself to eat at a Chinese buffet at 8:00pm last night. I didn’t realize that u would not even be allowed to drink water today…

Odd these rules about not eating before such a minor proceedure. I guess they worry what the reaction would be with the medicines, but it isn’t like they are doing open heart surgery.

Hang tough Paulie, it will all be over soon enough.

For those keeping score at home, I have committed to riding Wheels o’ Fire next weekend in Hamilton (Pine Mtn) which make at least 3. Come on down, it should be lots of fun.

  6. Thanks. I’ve been successfully transported to the hospital by ITP-Reader Betsy and am lounging in the waiting room for a while.

If I can make monumental progress by next Friday I might attempt a Day Spa visit. I’m in no shape to ride Wheels of Fire, but I could go out for a little hearth photography whilst you all ride.

  7. Steve says:

I’m sure the mizzus would be more than happy to take you around to the hearths we found the other week. And if you wanted to go for a ride, I can make up a map for you… all part of the service at JEFDSDR.

  8. Barb says:

there is a hearth we saw on the Wheels O Fire route a couple years ago, I can’t remember where it is, but if we see it again, I’ll let you know.

Paulie- they have a shorter route than the 45, you could do it……….

I’m still not sure I’m up for the 68, was hoping to get a decent ride in Saturday & sunday both, but throwing a party may cut into the riding on Saturday.

BTW- just checked the forecast, looks like it may be a little cooler this weekend, might want to bring a jacket……… Allan is debating on burning a big pile of branches, etc,. that are in the wooded section of the front yard Saturday night, that could be interesting.

So, any news on the patient?
