Back At The Office

Two days out of the office. I’m not looking forward to playing catch-up today.

Today’s Daily Challenge
Make your bed today.
Hmmm, where have I heard about making one’s bed? Oh yeah, on this website! Now if I could only get myself back into that habit. Today sounds like a great day to start — at least once I get home.

Man, I Wish I Had Done This
In yesterday’s Amazon Mobile update the information provided for this update was nothing more than this (paraphrased, trying to remember the exact wording)

We know you hate bugs, so we fixed some.

I love it when humor enters an arena in which it is not always found.
Good Night At George’s
I made it home from Clemson yesterday in time to head up to George’s for a walk. I fired up my iPod Touch and began walking
Wandering
The map above shows the path I covered, about 4.7-miles long, which took me nearly an hour and twenty minutes to accomplish.

My timing couldn’t have been much better as I by the time I went to enter George’s the early flight of runners were also entering. I sat at the bar and shared a pitcher of Blue Moon with ITP-Reader Steve while I ate my burger and fries for dinner (note to self: The path to weight-loss is paved better when sensible food choices are made). During the two hours I remained inside I saw a lot of good friends I’ve not seen much of since I stopped running at George’s. I look forward to returning to George’s occasionally once the Top Chef season ends.

I returned home early enough to get a lot of work done, though I fell asleep early instead. Oh well.

Recruiting
I sort of like this composition though I wish I had left more room on the left and top sides of the shot.

Taking A Night Off From Exercise
With the predicted heavy rains moving in later my decision to give my feet and legs a break to recover was almost made for me. I feel good that I’ve walked three days in a row and fully expect to return to hoofing it again starting tomorrow.

4.7 miles? Way to go, Paulie! That’s awesome!

  2. Steve says:

4.7 miles is excellent!! Yes, neither of us made good, healthy dinner choices. Must. Do. Better.

I think the 500mg Tylenol I took before my run helped- perhaps your hip would appreciate one as well?

And the rain will not keep me from flogging myself with the new Sufferfest video I bought the other day, “A Very Dark Place”. Should be… fun.

  3. Hmmm, I should consider a Tylenol though I think a night off will do me well also.

I got some extra exercise while I was in Piedmont Park, mostly as my head snapped around while looking at all of the pretty women in the park. 🙂

You were better than me last night – I met Sue (aka Deposit) for some wine & conversation at Houlihans. Oops is in France skiing (yes, I am so envious of his life) & Allan was working, so we meet up in East Cobb. I hadn’t been to a Houlihan’s in forever, they have a happy hour appetizer discount, so what the hell. It was nice to catch up……..

Advil or the generic equivalent are a definite must for me when getting almost any sort of exercise.

  5. Jenka says:

That is hilarious, just YESTERDAY I was wondering if you were still making the bed, but just not bothering to update the stats. Heh.

  6. Steve says:

    Hmmmm… stalk much?? 😉

  7. Jenka says:

Ha! I’m a stats person, what can I say? 🙂

  8. Stacy Fox says:

Awwwww man! Here I thought we made it through a post without you out there stalking the ladies!! 😉

  9. I like to think of it as admiring the ladies. Besides, if what I was doing last night was stalking I was doing a horrible job at it since I was in plain sight — not that it helped me talk to any of them.

  10. Steve says:

Just because they didn’t know they were being stalked means you could have still been one!!

  11. sarah says:

New when i saw today’s challenge that you’d get a chuckle.

    And yes, it’s stalking.

  12. If you describe women as something I desire to have, then yes it’s stalking (my prey). Otherwise I have nothing but the finest intentions and do not consider looking at women as I pass by them as nothing more than Human nature. It’s not like I was following selected women around the park…
