Dirty Laundry

The area in which I work has a way of changing one’s attitude about Life, generally in a negative way.

Last night I left the office sometime after 5pm with the mindset of dropping off some shirts at the dry cleaner, heading to Target, and then driving down to Chamblee to do my laundry and eat dinner. And then pulling out of my office’s driveway I saw the stopped traffic. I made it over to the dry cleaner and Target, but my attempt to return ITP was thwarted immediately. What was I to do? Go to Taco Mac of course.

My trips to the Perimeter Mall Taco Mac have become somewhat comical. Within the first twenty minutes three waitresses came up to say hello. In about another ten minutes my boss arrived, after reading my tweet that I was there.

The plan worked. When I left Taco Mac traffic had subsided, but all desire to do my laundry also subsided.

Not really a “photo”…
Why Would Anyone Leave AT&T?
Before I decided to turn around and have beer and dinner at Taco Mac I tried to see how bad traffic was around town. If the traffic snarl was localized I could have punched through and then done laundry.

After waiting a few minutes for the gray portions to become maps, I gave up and turned the Jackmobile around in the parking lot of Perimeter Mall and pointed it toward Taco Mac.

I’m Primed And Ready
‘Tis true! My Amazon Prime membership will now get me free video streaming from Amazon! This is good on two levels. First, believe it or not I am not buying much stuff these days (and what I do seems to be wine). Second, my lack of purchasing had me questioning why I was paying $80/year for a service that I wasn’t using as often as I once was.

People have been saying that Amazon’s selection is limited, but since I’ve watch very few movies I’m sure that I’ll be able to find something to watch. Oh, and they have Ken Burns’ National Parks available and since I never got around to watching it a few years ago…

I did find one downside however, Amazon Video require Flash which makes it a deal breaker for my iPad. For the first time since buying it I wish that the iPad played Flash video.

  1. I guess I didn’t have much to say today. Sorry, I’ll try to get into some mischief tonight to make things a little more exciting tomorrow. 😉

I’ve noticed google maps hasn’t been loading right quite often recently – just using their regular website, not on a phone.

I rode my bike – outside – after work yesterday!!! (I know, but the fact that I actually did it amazed me)

BTW – I’m finally off to get an oil change today & possibly eat at your favorite Mexican torta restaurant………. unless Martha picked a different joint to try…..
I have a feeling Lam will tell me it is time to bring it in for more work, (my brake light comes on intermittently & I know my catalytic convertor has gone bad) so I may be over there again soon.

  3. Rats. I too (still) need to get an oil change. I wish I could join you and Martha for lunch, but I have lunch brought in today and want to get out of the office by 4:30p in order to do laundry before Top Chef tonight.

  4. Barb says:

you still haven’t gotten an oil change? Shame on you……..

  5. Well, time has been an enemy. And, since the Jackmobile has started burning oil I’ve been adding more every few weeks — which is kinda like changing the oil. But, I know that I need to take it in to get a proper oil flush and filter change.

  6. Martha says:

I checked out what was available from Amazon VOD, someone there has a British TV fetish. Great news for me, not only do they have all the newer Dr. Who, they have Primevil, Torchwood, Little Britian & Red Drawf. I haven’t look at the movies yet…

Thanks to AT&T (and not getting a text from Jerry) I spent 45 minutes driving from MARTA station to MARTA station looking for Jerry…good news, I finally found him at Starbucks.

Barb, you had Mexican last night, do you want something else??

  7. Barb says:

Martha – since I had a quesadilla last night, I could have a torta, or tacos, or we could go try something else….. doesn’t really matter to me, whatever you are in the mood for (except sushi, had plenty of that recently & not in the mood)

  8. I don’t think there is much sushi to be had in that area so I think that you are safe Barb. Pollo Norteno (behind the strip that has Las Tortas Locas) is also good. Or, you could go nuts and eat at Penang.

  9. Barb says:

well- Peach Auto Service is too busy today (no lifts open), so no oil change today. Now we are shooting for Friday.
