The sound of two young lads serenading one another over breakfast.
Lilly’s Pizza + Flying Saucer = A Near Perfect Night
I left last night’s dinner selection up to my coworker Joe, and through collaboration with his wife Michelle it was decided that we’d eat at Lilly’s Pizza. As it turned out I’ve actually eaten at Lilly’s before, and while the wait for my calzone may have been longer than I desired, the final result (not photographed) was delicious. The calzone (and later beers) also undid all of the good done by eating fruit for breakfast and salad for lunch.
After dinner I joined ITP-Reader Randy for my three (plus) beers at Flying Saucer (What, you are surprised? You know that the Flying Saucer is my Taco Mac equivalent in Raleigh, right?) while his angelic wife ITP-Reader Lisa stayed home to watch the kids. Last night’s Flying Saucer visit supplied ample enjoyment via people watching. I can’t even begin to describe some of the people we saw while consuming beer last night.
I was up early enough to check out of the hotel in time to be dropped off at Lisa and Randy’s house, from today’s blog eminates.

I allowed myself to have pancakes for breakfast the other morning.
I did not allow myself to eat the entire plate’s worth however.
Oh Yes I Did!
While I won’t say that I performed a strong four miles of run/walking, I did get out and do four more miles of legwork yesterday (and today is a rest day, huzzah!).
I made an attempt to maximize my downhill running yesterday but thwarted my master plan some when I couldn’t remember the name of the street on which I wanted to turn and wound up doing a little more climbing than I desired. I’m sure it will help in the long run…. Get it? Long run. Oh, I don’t understand why my sharp sense of humor hasn’t convinced a woman that I am the perfect man…
An Inspirational Few Days
While the week started a bit rough I’ve been trying to focus my energy on positive affirmations. I’ve been trying to dedicate more time to reading (mostly tech stuff but I intend on moving to entertaining reading sometime soon), with minimal success.
Yesterday I made another investment in my future by pulling the trigger on an expensive software purchase ($50 for OmniGraffle for the iPad) that I’ll use to desing future Sharpened Stone software.
Down, but not out.
Not Sure Exactly What’s On Tap For This Weekend
I do know that I’ll be attending tomorrow night’s Carolina Hurricanes game as the play the, wait for it, Atlanta Thrashers. Oh I don’t really care, I’m going to have a good time regardless.

Current Mood – still miffed about life, but I’ll get by
Current Music – The sound of whatever kids show is on the television. Even if I *did* know which show it was, I wouldn’t admit that I did.
Website Of The Day – Say you owned an iPhone 4 for which you wanted a small, yet ingenious kickstand. Just play along, will ya? If so, you should check out a Glif. In fact, I came very close to purchasing a Glif yesterday but decided to put those twenty dollars toward the purchase of OmniGraffle on the iPad instead.

“serinating”??? not sure what this word means? did you mean “serenading”?
(not trying to be Martha here 😉 just thought it was a word I’d never heard of)
Yep, my bad. I knew that it didn’t look right but the iPad didn’t autocorrect or tell me it was misspelled, so I let it go. Thanks. 🙂
Then I figured out you were talling about Cooper & Nolan, so then it made sense.
So, I’m guess you have the day off today? Hope theweather there is nicer than it is here. (cold, rainy, gloomy).
Tell Lisa & Randy Hi – and that Allan & I are probably going to up that way St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Once I get some better details, I’ll get with them.
Hey everyone, Cooper says “Hello!”
Unfortunately the weather is just as miserable here as there.
Hmm, a quiet morning? What does that sound like? Travis usually wakes up with his hair on fire and continues that energy throughout the day. Although Laura is going to Tybee this weekend and I’m staying home, so I get 2 quiet mornings :-).
Enjoy your day off and tell the Bebe’s I said hey!
What a miserable day. No, I’m not just getting up (I wish)! But since I’m off today, I’m only now checking in with everyone. It’s a day to go to the feed store and get some other errands done. And though I have a cough that I can’t shake, the Sufferfest video is going to punish me a little later.
I hope everyone has a great time rooting for the Pack on Sunday!
Please tell Lisa and Randy hello from the day spa!!

Go Pack Go!
We delivered the Frozen Tundra kringle (with green and gold sprinkles) to our neighbors (Steelers fans) earlier today. They graciously accepted our offering and our less-than-sincere wishes of “good luck” regarding tomorrow’s game (aka The Big Game, since I don’t want to be indebted to the NFL for a royalty in case I say The Super Bowl).
In other news, we can happily report that Our Carolina Hurricanes defeated Your Atlanta Thrashers 4-3 in overtime. The oldest of the Beebe boys thoroughly enjoyed the game, even though we did not arrive home until more than 2 hours past his bedtime – and yet he still insisted that Daddy play 5 minutes of hockey with him with his new official NHL hockey puck.
In case you forget, Paulie, the name of the restaurant at which we dined Friday night was Bella Monica. In addition, I’m 98.6% confident that Crazy Lady #2 (blue top, forgotten purse, fancy new phone) from Flying Saucer would have accompanied you to your hotel room (in the classic 70’s columnar design of a hotel that is the Clarion).
OK, Lisa has given me enough grief for leaving a long comment. Time for more wine.
-Randy
it’s monday 1030 almost- where’s Paulie’s blog?
Just got to the Jackmobile at the airport.
I think this is outrageous service!! (no, not you Allan).
Hope the trip was big fun.
Go Pack Go!!
Agreed. Tune in tomorrow for a “Very Special” Inside The Perimeter blog. And by “Very Special” I mean “Hey, it’s relatively new” material.
