Well, as it turned out I didn’t make it to the lavenderia last night. I joined my boss at the local Outback (gasp!) for a beverage or two, which turned into beverages and dinner, after which I headed straight home. Such is life. Good thing I own too many clothes, which means that lavendaria can wait until Sunday and I’ll still have clean clothes to wear until then.
Bring On The Suffering
While I will not be restarting my exercising again until tomorrow I have ordered one of the cycling training videos from Sufferfest, thanks to the recommendation of ITP-Reader Steve. I am sure I will curse Steve up and down the first few times I ride along with the videos, unless I actually start to lose weight of course.

How can one lose weight when someone brings kringle into the office?
There is a Cheesehead among us, I will have to identify him or her today…
My First Mac AppStore Fail
Yesterday I decided that I would upgrade to iPhoto ’11 which is now available for $14.99 from the Mac AppStore. I launched the store, clicked the “buy” button, provided all of the necessary passwords, and watched it start to slowly download. The download took so long that I went to lunch figuring that it’d be done when I returned.
When I launched iPhoto from the Applications folder I was dismayed to be shown a splash screen telling me that I should upgrade to iPhoto ’11. Didn’t I just do this? Apparently not, as when I brought up the About Box for the app I saw that I was still running iPhoto ’08.
Fail. Even worse, fail with no indication of failure.
I’m not going to wait a few days to see if Apple charges my credit card the $14.99 before I raise some hell. My fear is that if I try to buy it again before doing so that I’ll be double charged for the application. Dangen!
A Busy Weekend Ahead
Friday Night
Tonight will be my final night before instituting my “Exercise Before Alcohol” policy. So, I plan to do it up right! I’ll be a happy hour participant with co-workers after work. Anyone want to guess where? 😉 Late tonight I’ll be slumming at The EARL to see one of my childhood heros — Grant Hart, drummer with Hüsker Dü — perform.
Saturday, Saturday, Saturday
Tomorrow morning I’ll be in a far away place known as “Cartersville.” Why? Because I’m meeting some of my Flickr/RPS photog friends for breakfast at a Waffle House (yum!) before heading to the Booth Museum to see the Ansel Adams exhibit they have there. It’s a pity that I didn’t coordinate this with the annual Boner Zone hash.
Saturday night is a wildcard. Who knows, maybe I’ll stay at home and do some of the chores to which I need to tend.
Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY
Well, aside from ignoring the Jets game so that they can beat the Steelers and get to play in the Super Bowl I’ll be doing some laundry and either taking the Red Rocket for a real ride (weather dependent of course) or hooking it up to my trainer to take my first shot at the Sufferfest video.
And you?

So which video did you buy? I believe I have a date with the Angel video later today. Using these has shown me that I wasn’t working hard enough when I was doing my own thing, and now when I don’t use the video, I work much harder.
I haven’t looked at the weather, but getting out on the road would be nice as well.

Per your commentary yesterday I bought “The Downward Spiral.” I was going to do due diligence and review all of the videos first, but my itchy trigger finger won out.
I believe Sunday is going to be cold and clear, high of 49 F. But considering there is a chance of “wintery mix” on Mon/Tue it looks like my only opportunity to get outside on my bike until next weekend.
I know I don’t work hard enough when I ride my bike, but I ride for fun, so I guess that makes sense. Just the video name scares me 😉
Wheels of Fire is April 2nd – anyone want to join us? I guess I ought to check to see if Allan got that day off, it is his birthday too.
Tonight we are having my massage therapist friend over for….. wait for it…. massages! Then she will stay for dinner & a few other friends are coming over too. Saturday – not sure what is on the agenda at all. Sunday, Allan is working, I may hang out with some friends in Marietta to watch football, or maybe go to a movie, who knows.
I ride for fun and exercise. And the more exercise I get riding the more fun it is (usually).
I so wish that my back would still allow for massages. I miss massages dearly.
*off to check out my availability for April 2nd*
Why won’t your back allow for massages? I think it helps mine.
Issues. I have issues.
Yes Paul, you have issues. But don’t we all?
Sunday is a hashing day, it is the rescheduled Wheelhopper. Who knows what Midget will throw at us. I will either ride short trail or bimbo, I want to see the Bears-Packers game.
Probably not going to make it to Midget’s trail……. unless someone calls to twist my arm to ride with them, my usual partner in crime won’t be there.
Probably not going to make it to Midget’s trail……. unless someone calls to twist my arm to ride with them, my usual partner in crime (michelle) won’t be there.
I thought about hashing this weekend, might as well take advantage of being ‘single’ while I can…but none of the options thrill me. So Saturday I’m going to go running at Sweet Water, I’ll stay out there as long as I can, I’m hoping for a minimn of 3 loops.
My trip to the DMV (did I get it right this time?) was painless. A small glitch in that my new insurance had not been updated in the ‘system’ was corrected with one phone call and 5 minutes of my time. I didn’t even have to wait in a line at all.
Since I’m here (I figured I would be heading to Ohio by now) I may swing by High Dicker’s for PBR night, even if I can not have a PBR. If I don’t do that, I’m not doing anything tonight.
Sunday is wide open.
For those wondering, I tried my hand at gluten free pizza dough last night. It needs work, mine tasted like a soggy cracker. I don’t know, maybe that’s the way it is suppose to taste.
Aaaaah, you know I’m just joshing you about the DMV since you catch many of my numerous typos.
I’m playing PBR night by ear. I initially said I’d make it, but if I do it’ll be as a layover between Taco Mac and The EARL.
