The Power Of Positive Thinking

At the suggestion of one of my friends I decided to buy, download, and begin to read “The Power of Positive Thinking” yesterday. I read the Preface and Introduction while doing some laundry last night, and though I’m not all into the religious tones present, I think I’ll benefit by carving some time out of my busy schedule to read this book. For starters I’m trying to think positively so that the coughing and sneezing which have tormented me for the past few days goes away quickly because I’m seriously tired of feeling ill.

Uno Taco, Por Favor
Last night I ate dinner at Las Tortas Locas in Chamblee/Doraville while I did laundry. After having an all-too-large lunch I decided that I should be responsible at dinner time. I ordered, and received, a single pastor taco (with pineapple and cheese added), and a horchata drink — all of which I ordered in my best mangled Spanish. By adding to that a jalapeño (which was incredibly hot/spicy), some carrot slices, and half of a sweet potato I made what I deemed to be a delicious, and fairly respectable dinner.

I was a bit bored as I waited for my clothes to dry last night. While I was listening to a podcast using my earbuds the volume on the televisions around me were turned so high that I couldn’t concentrate on the podcast so my mind wandered.
Speed Queen
The prominent color you see is from my Hong Kong Phooey pajamas. Yes, I own and wear Hong Kong Phooey pajamas, do you have a problem with that?

Gilding The Lily, Tilting The Kilt
After work tonight I’ll be checking out the new Tilted Kilt near my office. Yeah I know, it’s a chauvinistic place where the waitresses’ outfits are nothing more than flat-belly-revealing shirts and short skirts kilts. Damn, I can’t wait!

I Thought I Had More To Say

I LOVED Honk Kong Phooey as a kid…use to have a Honk Kong Phooey lunch box, with a blue thermos. Man I miss that box…

I do not own any pjs, I buy them, wear them around the house, wander outside, start pulling weeds or something just as inappropriate and then ruin them..so, it’s mostly old race t-shirts for me. It’s not like I can wear them any place else.

Paulie, I’m a big believer in positive thinking, karma, what goes around, comes around, whatever you want to call it. One of my favorite quotes “Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right”.

Thanks Martha. I think I may have had that lunchbox at one time, as well. Damn that was a great show — especially the title song!

  3. Stacy Fox says:

Dig the picture, Paulie! Yesterday’s was great too – at first I thought you were going to write about Tasty China (theirs are still my favorites).

I have no idea why, but I’m finding it most amusing that everyone’s misspelling “Hong” as “Honk.” In fact, I even did when I wrote this sentence.

I love pajamas but don’t seem to own any either – it’s the lounger pants and t-shirt that usually does it for me. I really want some pajamas now.

Is that what Tilted Kilt is like? Hmm. Guess I’m in no rush to get there now. Let me know if the food is special enough to overlook the ridiculousness? (and, yes, I find it ridiculous.)

  4. Martha says:

Okay I admit, I just cut and pasted “Honk Kong Phooey”…didn’t even bother to check.

Stacy, I saw the old, school one piece pjs at Target yesterday (I didn’t notice if they had feet or not). I couldn’t wear them, I would die, I get so hot at night (early menopause symptoms, I guess) as it is.

  5. My life continues to be “interesting” to say the least. I have a strange story to recount in Monday’s blog.

  6. Michelle says:

I confess that I was a fan of of Hong Kong Phooey myself…never had a lunchbox though…

  7. LA says:

Screw buying a front-loading washer/dryer for the energy efficiency – get it for the great shots.

  8. Barb says:

I can’t read & comment on monday’s blog once i saw you have an Amazing Race recap….. or do I care about spoilers? I’ll decide later, after taking friday off, I’m swamped at work.

BTW – NC was BEAUTIFUL this past weekend – excellent camping weather.
