Could Today Be The Day I Return To The “Normal”?

A lot of things were explained as I coded my little heart out until about 8:00pm last night. Thanks to yet another rather unproductive week I’m now well behind on my project. When I left the office I understood both why my bread molds so quickly at the office (the office’s temperature was nearly 83ºF when I left) and why I was still not feeling well (my temperature was about 102ºF when I left).

It Only Took Me Twelve Years
But I finally watched The Big Lebowski.

When I awoke at 11:30pm from a two-hour slumber which seemed to crack my fever I was wide awake. So, I decided to use that time and the speed of my U-Verse internet connection to stream The Big Lebowski from Netflix

I thought that the movie was good, but not quite the work of genius as I’ve heard over the past dozen years.

I wish this temperature had been jacked up to make it look so bad, but really I had a 102ºF fever for a while yesterday.
This Was No Joke
This morning as of 7:22am I registered at 97.6ºF.

A Weekend Of Catching Up, And Maybe A Couple Of Concerts
After nearly three days of ineffective living I have a lot of things on which to catch up — cleaning, laundry, etc.

I also have tickets to two concerts this weekend — Midlake at Variety Playhouse tonight and Ted Leo and the Pharmacists at Masquerade on Sunday night.

Most of all I plan to make sure that I get sufficient rest in order to return to 100% health.

RealiTV Update : Survivor — I’ve Yet To Watch

don’t you have a way to make a season pass for Survivor? I enjoyed last nights episode.

    Glad your temp is down.

I need to watch Big Lebowski again someday. I remember it being funny, but not that awesome either. But as with most cult classics, it has its moments. A newer movie that may be like that – Zombieland – it has so many quotable lines, Allan will never forget it, or let me forget it 😉

Not that you will join us, but for anyone else – we will be mountain biking at Big Creek tonight after work, and Chicopee tomorrow morning at 10am. Mexican restaurant after for lunch where I don’t think anyone speaks english & they only take cash.

  2. I “watched” Survivor this morning. I’m on the opposite side of the fence from you Barb. The person who got voted off was the one person who made this season interesting for me. SPOILER STARTS HERE: I don’t know if I can deal with Russell any longer. His smugness irritates the shit out of me.

I have a way to do a season pass but even though The Office comes on at 9pm there’s enough overlap in the way Dish’s DVR works that it won’t record both. 🙁

I didn’t mean to imply that I didn’t like The Big Lebowski, it just wasn’t as good as I’ve heard for all these many years. Maybe there was something different in the air back in 1998?

Yeah, I can’t make it OTP tonight. Even if I bail on the Midlake show (which I’m trying not to do) I think I’ll take comfort in a bite and beer near home somewhere. Have fun though.

I felt that way the first time I saw TBL. But I apparently liked it enough to watch it again. And I think that viewing hooked me. I’ve seen it tens of times and it’s one of my favorite movies. Go figure…

  4. Barb says:

well – Allan has a man crush on your guy (or at least I call it a man crush), so of course I have to be for the other guy 😉 He said he won’t watch anymore now. I just hate that Survivor contestants feel the need to vote out the strong people so early.

I figured you weren’t coming OTP…… it is sort of last minute & a very casual evening of burgers & trying not to wake Travis.

  5. Terri(SW) says:

re: Survivor- I just want that freakin’ praying mantis, Courtney, gone! Everytime she’s on the screen, I want to kick a grandma…

I really, really hate her. How the hell is that she-beast a model?!!? She looks like she’s decomposing…

  6. Barb says:

Terri- I’m soooo with out on Courtney – I thought she was a barmaid – she’s a model? I guess she is made perfectly for Survivor, she never eats anyway obviously.

  7. Terri (SW) says:

    She’s a model/ barmaid…she also was a “historic figure” in Salem.

  8. Jenka says:

Re: Big Lebowski, first off, you had to watch it back in 1998 because now so many of the quotes are common parlance so it doesn’t have the novelty it did back then. Second off, yes, watching it a second time will definitely make it better. I thought it was only okay at first, and then watched it again and LOVED it!
