Being Sick Sucks. No Foolin’

In past years in this space I’ve had a lot of fun on April Fool’s Day crafting witty posts. For the past two days I’ve been battling an insidious illness which yesterday made my head hurt to the point where reading was nearly impossible. As you can thus imagine, yesterday was a little less than “productive.” I did manage to bake a chicken and snap a photo or two. Unfortunately I was so weak and in pain that those photos remain inside the camera still.

I’m once again just waking up an the hour at which I’m normally at work. So with great apologies today’s post will be a lame as yesterday’s.

This Is No Joke Either
Today is the day that I intended to finally announce my LLC. By now I was to have a business bank account in place (still waiting for that coveted credit card to get approved), a logo, and a website. Regardless, I want to get it out there, so I introduce to you:

Sharpened Stone, LLC (no need to click on that link as it will take you nowhere).

One more thing…

Sorry you are still feeling crappy – we had to blow off the bike ride last night, I had forgotten I was donating blood yesterday afternoon. If I would have been smart, I could have done it in the morning. I was still feeling a little weak & they told me I shouldn’t ride. So, Allan burned things in the backyard, he misses fire being in Buckhead, the land of no fires.

Those Googlers.. I mean Topeka’ers are a hoot. Follow this:

for the complete explanation. And don’t forget, “All Things Considered” begins at 4PM on 90.1FM and they normally have a good April Fools story. My favorite was from the library of congress, where they started to use wax cylinders to record various types of sounds to a standard media. My brother-in-law actually thought they were serious.

    No foolin’

Sorry you’re still not feeling well. I’m so tired, my stupid hip/sciatica (that’s not what it is but the easiest way to describe it) keeps waking me up at night. I came back from the gym, Nibbles was still curled up under the covers, it took just about all my will power to not jump in and join her. I could bring her over, she’s great to cuddle with when you’re not feeling well.

It’s Pastitchio day at Nick’s also, I’m trying to be strong but if someone, who was say sick, really wanted some I would have no choice but to swing by and pick some up, could be life or death!

Seriously, if you need anything just let me know.

  4. Barb says:

Paulie – I think Martha needs an excuse to go to Nick’s……… I say just go, even if Paulie doesn’t want any. If I knew what a Pastitchio was & felt like driving into town, I’d go get one with you Martha.

  5. If I were at home again today I’d *so* be up for some Nick’s! I decided to drag my sorry ass into the office and suffer with those who most likely got me sick to begin with. Besides, it’s not like I have an unlimited amount of paid days off.

  6. Thanks Barb. I was hopeful that I’d be at 100% today until I started sneezing and had mouth swelling as if I had an allergic reaction to either the Coke I drank or the ibuprofen I popped last night. 🙁

Good addition Steve. That “press release” was actually how I found out about the Wikipedia page so I should have thought to link to it as well.

The other site I meant to mention today was URO-Club.

  7. Martha says:

Barb, pastitchio is ‘Greek Lasagna’, I’ve never had it at Nick’s but I really want to give it a try. Wednesday is moussaka day, I need to give it a try as well…I’m going to need to work out more 🙁
