It’s A Small World After All

Last night I met up with two great friends for a long night of conversation over food and drink at The Grange Public House in Decatur.

I was there with ITP-Reader Stac(e)y, who introduced me to ITP-Instigator Maigh, who introduced me to Darren who rode at the Dick Lane Velodrome and is the owner of The Grange, who knows ITP-Reader Steve (aka “Fag Pipes”) from his road racing days. Darren happened to be looking at my photos from the night at the velodrome by searching for “The Grange” and wondered who InsideThePerimeter was.

Small world indeed…

I’m A Star In My Own Mind
If you listen to the daily MacAnswers podcast you may have heard a question posed by listener “Paulie.” Care to venture a guess as to who that might have been? 🙂

My question was regarding what precautions should be taken prior to bringing a Mac into Apple for repairs (the ‘W’ and ‘E’ keys keep popping off the keyboard of my White MacBook, which is distressing for a person with the hash name “Wee Little Bit”).

It’s almost a shame that the computer stolen was not the one with the faulty keyboard.

ITP Flickr Pic FAIL
I had no excuse not to shoot something last night. But my camera stayed in the car and I never even considered fetching it. Bad Paulie! Very Bad Paulie!

Have I mentioned that my computer was stolen? That has nothing to do with my lack of making a new photo, but for my $1500 loss I am going to milk it for all it’s worth.

In The Dugout

Anyway, this is another shot that I took on my Chattanooga / Nashville weekend trip a few weeks ago.

You Have Heard About Amazon’s $5 CD Downloads, Right?
Did you know that each month Amazon sells fifty full-length CDs for $5 each? Yep! And there is more there than just some old stuff that’s been released forever.

With the turning of the calendar a few days ago I surfed to Amazon and checked out this month’s lineup. And in doing so I dropped $10 — $5 for Jason Lytle’s latest release, and $5 for Foreign Born’s latest release. I plan to go back at least once more this month to double-check the list and suggest that if you are into downloading music you should too.

Holy Jeebes, To What Have I Agreed?!?!
The Red Rocket is secured to the Jackmobile because I agreed to ride with ITP-Reader Bob (aka Check My Bags) tonight. Oh man, I must have been drunk when I agreed to do this. What’s that? I was at work when I agreed? Then I was certainly drunk!

Anyway. I’m looking forward to tonight’s ride even though it will be brutally hot and probably hillier than I’d like. Tune in tomorrow to see if I succeeded with the ride and was able to get home and/or to the office.

  1. bob says:

Sweet! You remembered to bring your bike, and judging by the blog post you remembered to NOT park in the parking deck.

  2. Affirmative on both counts. I even remembered to bring my water bottles; although I could have always purchased new ones when I hit Performance Bicycle at lunch.

Holler at me when you know what time you want to meet up. And if you don’t mind, send me a Google Map or directions to where we will meet.

  3. bob says:

Will do, and if you don’t die on the ride I have beer at the house and my lovely wife will be cooking dinner.

  4. Awesome! Incentive not to die. 🙂

  5. Barb says:

wow Paulie – Bob doesn’t offer Laura to cook us dinner when we ride with him, you must be damn special. Too bad I’m going to Silver Comet then the C U Next Tuesday hash tonight. (MC did some arm twisting on the 2nd part, but it is almost next door to Allan’s firehouse, so I can go say hi to him too)

  6. bob says:

I’m just trying to ease Paulie’s pain of being OTP on a weeknight 🙂

  7. Martha says:

My bike is in the car, so I will meet you ladies at 5:30 RTR. I worked up a sweat putting the bike in the car, the ride is going to be rough.

Jerry offered to cook dinner but I can’t stick around since I have to go home and take care of the Nibbler…I wish I could bring her to work with me. It would make my day much more interesting (and easier).

I was going to ask if the stolen computer was the one that needed to go to the shop, but if it was, I didn’t want to make you feel bad about not taking it in (thus not available to be stolen).

  8. The computer stolen was in mint condition. However, I am glad that I am not repairing a freshly-painted window.
